Just curious what people (especially the future moms-to-be) think about this.
The last time i wanted twins, I was 15 and thought 'Oh, how cute!' But now I'm like - no way!!! I used to take care of twin boys from the time they were infants to 5 years old and they were adorable great kids and I still love them to death - but OMG the WORK! Not only keeping up with 2 little boys the same age, but all those diaper changes, feeding time, etc doubled. (not to mention giving birth to TWO children, one right after the other). I dunno if I could handle all that.
I'm just curious if I'm the only person who thinks like this. Dh and even my MIL keep bringing it up, saying how wonderful it would be if we had twins. There's no twins in neither mine nor his family history tho so I'm not worried.
(and to make it worse, everybody keeps asking DH why we haven't had a baby yet, since he's in the ripe old age of 29 I guess most of his family members got somebody pregnant by 19, 20 yrs old so we're the outcasts of the bunch. lol.)

dh and i both want two kids. He said if i get pregnant with twins then we're set. I said 'no i want to be pregnant twice! if we have twins, i'd like one more!'
my dad was a twin, but she died at birth. My SIL was pregnant with twins, but lost both. so they definitely run in my family and I would be really happy if it did happen

DH wants twins. I told him I wanted 2 and he felt since there are fertility issues, if we had twins we wouldn't have to struggle a 2nd time.

I'm the same way! MIL was saying recently that I should have twins so that I can just get it over with, but I'm like no! I don't want it to be 'over with'. I feel like I'm going to enjoy being pregnant and having different baby showers and celebrating each birth individually. I wanna go through that 'OMG I'm pregnant' deal more than just once. So i'm with you!! If I had twins, I'd still have to have at least one more (hopefully it wouldn't be ANOTHER set of twins though - or we're screwed)

If I have twins, I want a boy and a girl. But I don't think I'll have them. Although, on my grandmas side of the family, her brothers (my great uncle) kids all had twins. I dunno if that was passed down from him (in which case it runs in my family) or his wife (then it wouldn't). I think I would panic though! LOL.

I know! My old landlord had twins and triplets!! And they were only a year and half apart! But she was taking fertility drugs, so thats why it happened.

Re: anybody hoping for TWINS in their future?
we want 2 children, but not twins. it sounds like fun in thought, but it's sooo much work, and i think being a first time mom, one will be more than enough to start with. although, if i were somehow pregnant w/ twins (i'm not, there's only one in there!), we would want a boy and a girl, and we'd be done. thing is, i always joke w/ DH that i want three children, so w/ the 2nd pregnancy it would be awesome if it were twins. just gives a blank stare, but he knows i'm joking.

I'd hope for a boy and a girl so that I'm done after that.
On of my best friends just had twin boys a few weeks ago and OMG!. 1 newborn is a lot, but TWO!!! IDK how she does it.

I would love twins!!!!! But it would have to be a miracle as twins don't run in our families.

Re: anybody hoping for TWINS in their future?
Twins run on MIL's side, but usually the 'twin' gene is transferred to the daughters...at least for fraternal twins. Anyone has the chance of identical twins since the embryo just splits..so who know mayb I will maybe I won't have twins...LOL.
If I did have twins I would want to try again. I'm with you Cassandra and Jeansys.

yup, I want a boy and a girl so that I only have to go through labor once (well technically twice but I'll get it over with) and be done! Twins run in my family so my fingers, and other appendages, are crossed

When we're ready for children I would love to have twins. Twins run in both sides of our families so hopefully thats what happens.

Twins run in both of our families, and we're both next to have one according to everyone. We both have grandparents that was a twin.

Eh, multiples run in my family, and my generation is due... so I'm a little concerned. But my brother didn't have twins, so hopefully I'm ok.

Re: anybody hoping for TWINS in their future?
I want 2 kids but I don't want to gain all the weight and then lose it and then gain it all againcand lose it again so I'd rather have twins and get it over with! Plus, I have PCOS and probably will have to take Clomid, which increases the risk of multiples so I'm preparing myself mentally for the possibility.

Re: anybody hoping for TWINS in their future?
oh boy - well twins MAJORLY run on both our sides...and they are DUE on my side! everyone things it's 'Sooo Funny' to constantly state how we're gonna be the ones to deliver...lol.. Josh's brother & his wife have twins..a boy & girl...they're take on it is that NOW it's great, because they're each others buddies so they always just entertain each other and are always occupied in that way...but at the beginning?!?!!! OYE. his brother still talks about how he just does not know how they did it..SLEEPLESS nights...and seriously sleepless because when was was finally done eating, the other started, etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.etc...and breastfeeding??? OMG..my poor boobs lol. i dunno - i think God gives u what u can handle, so if we did we'd be alright and i'm sure we wouldn't be able to imagine anything else - but i would be terrified of the work! i can't even imagine simple things like grocery shopping - because if someone's not around to help, u'd have TWO of those baby carriers?!? aaahhh!!!!! SO much work! but a double blessing at the same time..
