anybody hoping for TWINS in their future?

Original post by RockysGirl

Just curious what people (especially the future moms-to-be) think about this.

The last time i wanted twins, I was 15 and thought 'Oh, how cute!' But now I'm like - no way!!! I used to take care of twin boys from the time they were infants to 5 years old and they were adorable great kids and I still love them to death - but OMG the WORK! Not only keeping up with 2 little boys the same age, but all those diaper changes, feeding time, etc doubled. (not to mention giving birth to TWO children, one right after the other). I dunno if I could handle all that.

I'm just curious if I'm the only person who thinks like this. Dh and even my MIL keep bringing it up, saying how wonderful it would be if we had twins. There's no twins in neither mine nor his family history tho so I'm not worried.

(and to make it worse, everybody keeps asking DH why we haven't had a baby yet, since he's in the ripe old age of 29 I guess most of his family members got somebody pregnant by 19, 20 yrs old so we're the outcasts of the bunch. lol.)

I once saw a father with twins and he was holding one crying and the other was in the stroller crying and he seemed like he was so upset because he wanted to hold and comfort both at the same time but he couldn't. From that moment on I realized that it has to be a lot of work to have more than one small child.

MEE! I would love to have baby boy twins. I want two boys and love twins. I already told DH when we're ready that's what he has to aim for

Twins run in my family, but, the only way I would EVER want to have them is if they were the only children I was going to have. Every family I have seen with Twins and other children, especially when the twins come second, the other children fall to the wayside. It happened to me. My younger sisters are twins and once they came along I got my basic needs taken care of, but, all extra attention was centered around the twins.

I've seen that also. The adorable twin boys I mentioned above are middle children. They have an older sister and a younger brother, but once those twins came around they just kind of took over. The youngest started acting up a lot and I think that's why

I really wanted twins, no such luck though lol. It apparently runs on DH's side of the family, but apparently it only matters if it runs in the womans side. SIL is now preggo, but she only has one little boy in there, so I dunno, everyone I know that has twins or more did IVF treatments.

But I must admit, one little ham is quite tiring, so bravo to those families with two little ones at once!

I would love twins. I think there is just something so cool and special about them. That being said, I do understand how much work they would be, and will be happy whether we end up having twins or not.

But, since we are pregnant with one right now, ask me again in 9 months after this little one if I still want twins and I may just have a completely different answer!!!

twins run in DH's family, not mine that i know of - my nephew could have been a twin but it ended up just being him in the end - so who knows - it could happen for us too but i highly doubt it....

i wouldnt be disappointed but i dont think id be thrilled either

i think i rather have 1 at a time, i dont know how im going to fit 1 baby in my belly let alone 2
