Re: anybody remember.....

Were the boards like that in Feb. 2002? I guess I was pretty wrapped up in planning. The boards themselves and my use and perception has changed alot since my wedding.
I don't even remember paying attention to how many people were on back then. I just remember some names of ladies that were frequent posters. Oh, and I was also hesitant to come over to the newleywed side!

Re: anybody remember.....

I remember the good ol' days, and boy do I miss them. I used to post on the AOL Knot boards, and I left there because it was a huge, volitile community and LIW was so homey. I miss the 'homey' old days, but I will remain here because my friends are here.

Re: anybody remember.....

When I first started coming to this site in Jan 2000 there wasn't even a Newlywed board. But I do remember that when it did start there were maybe 4 or 5 people on it and I too was afraid to go there. I was a lurker but no way would I post Too funny.

Re: anybody remember.....

Same here .. I only lurked on the newlywed board about 2 months before my wedding! I was afraid to post here. Now, it's my internet 'home'!

Actually, I have to agree with all you ladies - LIW has grown in both a good way (for them) and a bad way (for those who liked the smallness of it before)!

But like JennRenee, I wouldn't leave because my friends are here. We have our own little family on the NW board!

Hi Marni - welcome back - you were missed

I miss the small community-feel as well. I certainly find myself not posting a lot (hell, I've been here almost 2 years or more and I have not reached addicted status)...

But it's good to come on every now and then and get a sense of what everyone is up to.

Re: anybody remember.....

You also know what I think took alot 'away'? The NWR board.
I left for work yesterday morning & read the BHB board. I came home and the posts I read were only on page 2 when usually they are on like page 6, not many people go there anymore, they mostly go to NWR. I remember when my wedding was a year, or more away, or even severalmonths away, I'd ask away & want to read everything to learn, I see alot just want the NWR board now, it is fun but takes away from the wedding website purpose.

Re: anybody remember.....

I wasnt here when this was a small community, but its the process of evolution.

Ladies you make me laugh, anyone ever read the Bridgit Jones Diary? The Marriedtons verse the Singletons.

Its what happens, anyway. Wedding planning is old hat to the married ladies, its natural

I dont speak to my married friends abt my wedding because they can care less they already did it.

Just putting my 2 cents in. I still like this place, with all its quirks, bs, pettiness, and real people.

Im not being nasty, hope its not coming across that way

Re: anybody remember.....

Of course change is inevitable....just reminiscing I guess...

I guess it is like are you a city person or a country person...I like the feel of country, quiet and peaceful, and like to go to the city occasional, but not too often because then I feel lost in the crowd. That's just me. So the overwhelming change was a little shocking and uncomfortable for me I guess. But I'm glad to have at least a few people who are still here who I planned with, andhope to maintain relationships with now that the wedding planning is over.

Edited to say: I missed you too Trish!!!!!
