Original post by futrmrsblt

so ive been a housewife now for 5 weeks.. maybe 6...
its fun... i like being a woman of leisure.. and the house hasn't ever been cleaner haha...
is anyone else a housewife? or am i the only one trying this out...
how do you fill ur day when chores doesnt do it?
my judge shows are all starting to get to repeats.. and the highlight of my day is the mail delivery haha
i do hang out with my neighbor whos a stay at home mom with her 4 year old.. but u can only do that so long

i think i might do a pt job of some sort eventually to keep busy... or some volunteering like i used to do with underpriv. .kids from bad areas...

No, but there was a period of about 3 months where I was and I just found myself being super unmotivated.
DH and I have talked about him quitting his job in the future and working from home, but I need to work. I admire housewives who are motivated to get things done during a day, it's just not for me.

I am kinda a housewife -- temporarily I was laid off from my job and they actually have been paying me since September -- basically to get married and go on our HM up until November when my sick times runs out and they stop paying my severance -- I coiuld get used to it once we have kids and keep alittle busier -- but for now I'm not complaining starting my job search

I guess I'm just being jellous but is anyone else (who can't afford to stay home) getting a little angry as they read this.

It is good that some people have the option to stay home and I'm sure there arre some girls who have worked hard to have the option now so I'm not really that bitter just hope I can stay home a while after i have a baby

Well, we do not have the option of either of us staying home, but even if we did, I don't think I could be a housewife. I would be so bored.

I'm definitely not a housewife by choice.... I am just having a hard time finding a job here since I don't speak the language fluently...

I've been a housewife for 4 months. I got laid off from my job right before the wedding and I am having a hard time finding a job.

At times I enjoy being home (I cook, bake, clean and shop)...but that gets boring after a while and I am really looking forward to getting back to work.

As I sit at work right now, know that I'm hating you all

As much as my career/job stresses me out I would go out of my mind staying at home. When I take a personal day or what I like to call a 'mental health day' I can't stay off of my Blackberry. I really think I would get depressed if I stayed home although I would LOVE the idea of sleeping past 5:30AM!

When we have I plan to work on a part-time schedule.
