Anyone been to Puerto Rico?

has anyone gone to puerto rico? one of DH's friends is getting married there next year (the month of our 1 year anniversary

) so we're gunna turn it into an anniversary trip.

any experiences? is it worth it? i know it's early but i'm excited

Hi Sonia,

I have been there. That's where my in-laws live. I am not good with places and things to do,as far as touristy things,...we went to stay with family. But if you ask Latina....she will know.

I've been there a few times with one of my friends. She has family there so we always stayed with them. However, the hotels on the 'strip' in Isla Verde are great - there are casino's and clubs to go too. The hotels are nice and right on the water. I liked it each time I went.

We stayed at the Grand in San Juan and had a wonderful time. This was years ago...so I'm not sure if the hotel still exists.

I love Puerto Rico. Depends on where you would like to stay. The Ritz is very nice and not that expensive. I also recommend the Wyndham Conquistador or Wyndham Grand. The Grand turns into a club on the weekends so that may or may not be your scene. In my case I ended up moving to the Ritz b/c I wanted some peace and quiet. Downtown San Juan is very historic and a good place to tour. If you have transportation you can also delve further into Puerto Rico and visit the rain forest etc.

I went to PR on business about a year and a half ago. I stayed at the Marriot in Condado but would definitely recommend checking out the Wyndham El Conquistodor (sp?) - I've heard great things about it.

We just got back - we went to the Wyndham El Conquistador in Fajardo!! Beautiful, I highly recommend it. The trips are not expensive but the food was a little pricy. If you are looking to relax, this is the place to go!
