anyone else ever feel like they have a ghost in their house?
This might sound dumb, but i feel like i have a ghost in my apartment. things dont move, i dont hear voices, but i just feel like im being watched constantly. And in the bedroom i get this all around creepy feeling. At night when I go to bed it takes me HOURS to fall asleep because I'm scared to death that theres something in the room with me. BUT the weird thing is, i only feel like this when DH is not home. When im in the livingroom I always look over to the bedroom door cuz i feel like theres something at the door.....ugh its so creepy. Am I crazy? Anyone else ever feel like this?

I get like that sometimes...esp. tonight, for some reason. DH is working overnight, so it's just me & my Furry Babies....I was doing the laundry before & I was walking outside in the dark to get to my Laundry room.
I was getting Creeped out. I thought someone was going to Adduct me

You girls are such wimps how old are you grow up
Umm I left my house at 2am in my pajamas and drove to see DH at work. I brought jeans and a bra in the car and changed in the parking lot. I though the beeping coming from below my window in the backyard was my murderers cell phone turned out it was just the pool pump
Oh and I keep LIPA in business I go to bed with all the lights on and the tv on. This way if someone does come to kill me they can see what they are doing and watch Seinfeld reruns in the process

Watching America's Most Wanted and the E! True Hollywood Story of the Hollywood Murderer don't help much I would advise against that. I left out the part in story of me driving down the road talking to DH on our home portable phone. I made him stay on the phone with me until I drove out of the phones range and it disconnected.
It makes me feel better to know I am not the only wimp. If I am home alone for a night and I arrive home when it is still bright I am okay but if I get home when it is dark out around 9 or 10 I am so scared and refuse to go in the basement.
I seriously sound like a crazy person. I may need Dr Phil to figure out my issues

Re: anyone else ever feel like they have a ghost in their house?
I used to feel that way when I lived home at my Dad's. But that's because his house really is haunted. Three different people have seen the same figure in 2 different spots. Doors have come off hinges. Screws that 3 men could not get out of a wall have disappeared. His GFs son hid under the covers one night and said 'Go away ghost. This is Danny's house!' And the Dog barks at thin air sometimes. Ohhh, and his GF heard footsteps that sounded exactly like my grandfather walking. He always had tacks on the bottom of his shoes to make noise and he didn't lift his feet well when he walked so the sound was sort of unique.
So no, you're not crazy. And it's only natural to be creeped out when you're alone. I won't go to bed without DH. If I do, the lights stay on.

okay well this is going to just sound absolutely looney, but 2 seperate things have happened in bed the last week that freaked me out. The first thing was that in the middle of the night I was asleep i realized in my sleep that i was panting (like i couldnt breathe) and I was dreaming of myself being like strangled by a ghost. When i finally woke up my mouth was all dry and I had to catch my breath. Then, last night, the air conditioning was on, the fan was on, it was like 74 degrees in the apartment...I woke up dripping sweat burning up to the point where I felt suffocated. It was sooooo hot. I got out of bed, checked the temperature on the thermostat and when I got back in bed the room was cool and normal temp.

That's really freaky. Have you spoken to your DH about this?
I know what you mean though when you say you are feel like you are being watched. Last night I freaked out in the bathroom while I was taking off my makeup and brushing my teeth. I had the door closed and I get so scared I am going to see someone in the mirror behind me when I bring my head back up after washing my face. I booked out of the bathroom so fast. I do know the feeling that you have though. I've had it all my life whether I've lived at home or after moving out and living alone in my apt. and now in our condo. it doesn't help that I also just watched the Exorcist recently. I've been sleeping with the lights on if DH is not in the bedroom. I feel pathetic but oh well. I usually just pray to God to keep me safe when I feel this creepy feeling and then am able to fall asleep.
I thought i was the only looney one but now I feel better knowing there are so many ohter ladies that feel the same way I do.

Re: anyone else ever feel like they have a ghost in their house?
thank goodness not in this house, but in my old house my mom swears that she saw a figure walking behind me one day as I went down the stairs (thanks for telling me that one ma!! .....then another time (before I was born) she said she heard footsteps on the stairs, and the dog acted all wacky, so I DEFINITELY think something was going down in the old house!! It could've been my dad's first wife, she died of diabetes in the 70's.
Also in my old house I used to always freak myself out when I'd let my cat out she'd be in the backyard and stepping on the leaves (this usually happened to me in the fall) and I'd SWEAR it was some psycho mass murderer in the backyard and I was hearing his footsteps! I used to sleep with a kitchen knife in my bedroom I was so scared. I guess when you have a good imagination its really easy to scare the crap out of yourself!!!

You are definetly not alone. DH & I talk about this all of the time. We feel that there is someone in the house with us most of the time. Our bathroom door closes on its own. We sometimes hear a baby crying and none of our neighbors have infants. DH will be in the bathroom and hear someone walking in the hall and stop outside of the bathroom and then continue to our room. There have also been times when I have been taking a shower and felt like someone came into the bathroom and I have asked DH about it and he says that it isn't him. The one thing that freaked us out the most was one night when we both felt some sit on the bed with us and tighten the blanket around our feet & legs.

It really doesn't bother us that much. We have kind of gotten used to it.

i am convinced my parents house where i grew up has a ghost...i saw something in the basement as a kid...then years later as an adult..and my Dad saw it too...i still get creeped out in the basement..that feeling of not being alone...luckily the house i live in now is fine...it was my Great Uncle's house...i actually kind of feel like he's around sometimes, but i loved him so it's comforting, not creepy.

I do not think you are crazy!!! I faced a similar situation as you a few years back when DH and I were seniors in college.

Re: anyone else ever feel like they have a ghost in their house?
LMAO I wish I had seent his thread earleir! Our apartment is sooo creepy-the bathroom I mean. Always feel im being watched and terrified because Dh hung a shaving mirror inside the shower so always expecting to see soemone looking at me when i open the curtain> Doesn't help my cats occasionally stare that way for HOURS at a time and they are not the kind to sit still. My kittens tail puffed up one day when he looked over there...just creeps me OUT! for the first 2 months I wouldn't pee in there alone, lmao would bring the cats in or pee at my neighbors when I got really freaked....
Sad but true. Finally ahd DH bring home a blessed crucifix and had our family friend who is a priest bless another to go over the doorway.
Funny how when you're terrified you remember ALLLL those catholic prayers you learned as a kid and thought you forgot!!!! LMAO.
