At my office we have a, I guess public, restroom in the hallway. I walk in today and some woman is brushing her teeth. And we have the sinks that have the sinks witht he sensors so they turn on if you wave your hand in front of them. So the water would go off and I could hear her brushing. I dunno, I'm all for dental hygiene, but in a public restroom, especially when someone else walks in?

I worked with a woman who did that... but it was for a very good reason. she genetically had really bad teeth, and was lactose intolerant, so her teeth were especially weak. they frankly would fall out if she didn't brush immediately after eating.....

I don't find it weird only bc I used to have braces and HAD to bruch my teeth after every meal.. and I worked in a place where the sinks were when you first walked into the bathroom and then there was another door to push open to get to the stalls

Personally, I don't brush my teeth in public restrooms. But I think its okay if other people do. I guess I just assume that I'd rather they brush their teeth than not!
ITs actually better in your situation b/c you have the sensors and she doesn't have to turn the sink with her hand that has the doody germs on the sink handle and then rinse her mouth.

To each his/her own I guess. I don't do that and I wore braces for years in high school. I rarely got anything stuck in mine though.

I didn't think that she could have braces or something, although I doubt it because she was in her 50's. I don't brush at work, so I guess it was just a little weird to walk into the bathroom and see (and hear!) a stranger brushing her teeth.

I see people do it at my job sometimes too. But I once went into the bathroom at a Barnes & Noble and some lady was brushing her teeth in there and she didn't work there?!?

I am a Chronic toothbrusher.. brush at least twice a day at work.. often do it in airport bathrooms during layovers. those are the only two public places I guess.
I think its gross to NOT brush your teeth after every meal.
That being said, I am also a germ freak that uses paper towels on the sink handles when i brush. Ugh. Yuck!!

same here. I have a toothbrush & paste in my desk drawer. Is it awkward when people walk in & you're brushing? A little. But I have good clean teeth

That's funny b/c I do the same thing. When I am at work. I wash my hands first then use a paper towel (many) to cover the sink handle while I brush my teeth.

i NEVER brush at work... sciiiieves me out to no end. My coworker does and she uses our DISGUSTING sink in the dark room where we drain film developer and crap chemicals like that into....

i am a dentist to be (this may!!) and i do have to say that you should brush after every meal. i don't do it all the time, but i should. i always see people brushing there teeth in the bathroom...but then again...i am at my dental school (hospital) all day ...i dont find it wierd at all. JMO
