Anyone else hate writing the thank you notes???

I have been doing a couple a day. And I just really don't want to do it! There are just too many. I feel like I am writing the same thing in every card.

Anyone have some unique sayings to put in there??? Or is it ok to keep it short and sweet?

I havent gotten to thank-yous yet but I did them for my shower and I was actually kinda funny in them for the pure reason of amusing myself LOL I hope DH is helping you!

It was a pain!!

I had a website with Thank You verses but I don't remember it ... I know I posted on here - I'll see if I can find/bump!

ETA: I did all of ours but only because I wouldn't let DH do them!! LOL!! I did have him write the ones to his siblings ...

Lori- I can't even get him to take the trash out and he would use the excuse, 'my handwriting is bad. Well, I think I got about 20 done. Just need to do another 60. LOL. They should be out by the holidays.

But...in my defense....I had to have my TY pics redone, the first set came out bad.

I found verse it and just printed up a whole list of of thank you's. So.....

I have done 6 so far!!!!!!!

I was thinking this last night, I was looking thru the current catalog and they had their christmas cards, and I was thinking, do I have to send out holiday cards this year? Because seriously by the time I finish the TYs for the wedding and mail them out, it will be December!!!!! I doubt all our friends/family want to hear from us this much in one year!

I feel like thank-you's are the bain of my exisitance right now! I was so good about my shower thank you's- I got them out in 2 days (I was a bit insane) but I am totally stalling with these! There are just so many that it's overwhelming! I try to do 10 a night but I've been at a standstill for the last week!
PLUS- I won't let my husband write them because his handwriting is so freakin small that you need a magnifying glass to read it! He means well but I just have to do them!

I am so glad I am not the only one who feels this way!

It felt like they were never going to be done! I just have to address all of the envelopes and they should be going out this weekend!! I don't want to see them anymore!

This is exactly why we banged them out in one day instead of a few each night. My hand hurt for 3 days but I was glad I never had to think about doing them again.

I haven't even gotten to this stage yet and ALREADY I'm DREADING the very thought of it!

I guess the only bright side for us is that we had a relatively small weddding so there won't be nearly as many write out as some of you poor ladies have to do

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... I thought all the 'agita' went away once the wedding was over

I pestered the photogs to give us the cards before the wedding (even if we didn't pick a picture).

I wrote most of them on the plane to and from Hawaii and during lazy days of the honeymoon. It was great b/c everything was still fresh in my head. And it made the plane rides go a bit faster!

Now I only have a few straggler gift ones to write! Hubbie is picking up the pics now!

I still feel like 2 months is late to get them out. For pic TYs is this ok?

I do! I have been writing about 10 per day. It probably won't finish and mail them until next week! DH is out of town so I am doing them by myself

2 months! Please thats great!!! I have been married a month and a half and I havent picked the pic and I have only written out 6!

Standard ettiquite is within one year....I am shooting for 6 months (but we have some extenuating circumstances)

I heard a year was for wedding gifts & that TY's should be sent within three months (or as close to that as possible).

So if a person gives money, they should get their card faster?

No, that's not what I meant.

Guests/family/friends have a year to give a wedding gift.

Brides/Grooms don't have a year to send a thank you.

TY's should always be sent as soon as possible after receiving the gift. On LI, it takes a couple of months b/c we wait for proofs, pick a picture, etc.

Did I misunderstand your post - did you say a year to send thank yous?

I hated it!!!! It took me a week to complete everyone. FH wrote maybe a whole whopping 5 TY's .

It's a pain but needs to get done

Keep it short and simple. Obviously for the special people in your life you can write whatever you want

I actually enjoyed writing them...I tried to get as cheesy as possible to amuse myself!
