Just wondering. We're supposed to receive our pictures any day now - can't wait. Just curious - how many photos are in your albums? I don't want it to short, or too long....thanks!

Re: Anyone else making their own albums?
I'm making my own albums, but I have no clue where to begin. My photographer is going to help us, but we'll be doing a bulk of the work.

Re: Anyone else making their own albums?
My friends took SO many pictures that I made 1 album from those alone... then put the table camera pics in another....
For my professional pics, I'm making a scrapbook out of a good many of them and whatever is left over will go in yet another photo album
I think I have almost 1,000 pictures from our wedding and 2 amatuer videos of the ceremony. There's NO WAY I can forget any detail of our day

Re: Anyone else making their own albums?
I am doing my own albums from scratch since I only purchased an 8 hour package from 12th night that included no albums.
I will be doing everything.... picture picking... creative... layout... printing... press... you name it.
Right now I am in the middle of doing the layouts for each album page (almost done with it).
This is a very long process (been at it for a few weeks now with the layout). But I am taking my time with it cause I want it done right.
You could just buy a nice album from Michaels... get your pictures printed at a photo lab... and insert the pictures yourself into the album.
You can do single pictures per page... or you can do what I am doing and making some pages multiple-photo pages.
I haven't decided how I am going to handle picking out the albums themselves yet. Once I decide what i am going to do... and get the albums in my possession... I will give everybody an update.
But I definitely want something with enough quality that will rival the professional photographers.
As far as pages go... my album will most likely be 46 pages. Parents will be getting the same exact royal album that I am getting for myself.

Re: Anyone else making their own albums?
I designed my own album but wanted to have it professionally printed and bound. My photographer took my layouts and worked with a professional company to do my coffee table book.
I will warn you that it took me a lot of time and effort to get it done. Im sure that has a lot to do with my need to try a bunch of different styles and then nitpick everything but I dont know if I would have done it if I had known what I know now. That said, Im really happy how it all worked out.

Re: Anyone else making their own albums?
Stef - I'm sure I've said it before, but I love your album. It is amazing!!! And DJPill, so far your's is looking great!! Could I ask you guys, what type of program do you use to make this type of layout? I have Quark, but I don't know it that well so I'm not sure if I could do something that fancy in it.

Edited to add: I think we have about 100 photos in our album.

Your layout looks great. Mine will look a little similar... but will have a lot more color than black and white.
I liked some of your photoshop tricks that you used. I might have to incorporate a few of them into my album if you don't mind.

Re: Anyone else making their own albums?
i actually was creating a digital diary of my entire wedding process with my camera...from proposal to wedding morning. I uploaded them to Kodakgallery.com....added my comments, picked a cover and design, and just ordered it like yesterday. it has 80 pages and i can't wait to get it!!

Re: Anyone else making their own albums?
I have photoshop and I think I can handle making album layouts, but where do I take them to get them printed and what size do I make the page. . .8.5x11 the long way???
EXCITED!
