Anyone else's hubby think your clothes are too long?

Original post by NovemberSue

I bought two pairs of shorts yesterday and he made a face. He thinks they are too long.I told him I am not 18 years old and cannot wear those short shorts. Anyone else's hubby think they are a little too conservative with the clothes sometimes?

STEF - I can completely relate!!!! Chris is obsessed with me being 'dressed up'. It is the strangest (and most annoying) thing! He actually gives me dirty looks when I am in flip flops, jeans and a tank top!

Which is my FAVORITE outfit. After 10 years of this, I have learned to wear what makes me feel pretty - his way is too high maintenance. He also loves my hair straight, nails painted, heels - the whole bit!

What is funny is that I am completely not like that! It must be so frustrating for him to have fallen for somebody who isn't a glamour girl!

Poor Scott. Now that I am pg all I wear is sweats Scott never tells me that something is too long but I am sure he would like me to dress sexier. Oh, well. This is just me.

DH never says anything one way or another...but he does get excited when I do dress up...

Stacedz...there is hope for your DH...when I met mine...he ONLY had jeans...and t-shirts (lucky he can go to work like that)...but he has been buying 'nicer' clothes in the last year or two...now he 'likes' slacks...when the occasion calls for it

I always dress a bit on the sexy side, no complaints from my DH

As for him, he is not a clothes man unless I buy for him, he won't wear nothing but jeans & a tee.

Patrick tells me I look great even if I am a complete disaster.
The only time he ever complains is when I wear an ancient t-shirt from my college days, that has holes all over it. He doesn't understand that it's my very last connection to my carefree college life, and I NEVER wear it out of the house!

This thread is really funny.

My husband told me on our anniversary that my look has changed so much since we met. He told me I don't wear half of things I used to wear, but he appreciates that I still look sexy in my more conservative look.

However, like everyone else, I have some downright awful days.

DH thinks I am too conservative w/ everything too! What the man thinks I will look good in makes me believe a trip to the optometrist is in order for him! LOL!

DH is the same as Shamma's.
If I get any complaint it's because everything is a bit too short for his liking. LOL.
I'll dress this way as long as I can though. IMO, I work hard to maintain my body and I have every right to wear shorts as short as I want them.

I tell him that when the day comes that I start covering up because I feel like my body no longer warrants my showing it off, he's sure to feel some regret. That usually shuts him up.

John will out of the blue say 'you look cute' when I am in sweats and a tee, and when I think I look like crap, so he's not one to ever criticize how I dress. When we 'go out', he always says I look nice . I dont think he'd want me to dress 'Sexier' he's the type of guy that would rather me wear a potato sack so other guys cant look, LOL. When we were dating (and I got all dolled up) he'd make comments like wasnt my shirt too tight or skirt was too short. (he has conservative taste when it comes to his girlfriend/wife being out in public.) Sorry, Johnny, LOL. But he never made a big deal out of it, he'd just roll his eyes and get over it...too cute...

This is my first newlywed post
I think this thread is hilarious. My husband ALWAYS wants me to wear something tighter or shorter than what I have on. I don't mind dressing a little sexy but come on. I try to do it every so often because we don't go out much so if we do, I'll show a little skin for him.

rob doesnt make comments at all. Funny thing..when we first dated and were in a store looking through clothes. He picks up a size 2 shirt and says it would look great on me. I giggled and said- that fits your sister,,,that is DEF not my size!

tough to be a girlfriend(at that time) of a guy who has 2 sisters- one size 0 and one size 2.!!
