Anyone feel like they aren't accomplishing anything at work?
I'm in such a slump right now at work. I feel like I really have nothing to show for what I do and have not really made any accomplishments in my field. And I'm not really motivated to do anything about it!I guess its because a former co-worker was just named to a 'Movers and Shakers' list in my field and this person totally wants to make me PUKE!
Maybe I was born in the wrong era. When I clean the house or do some organizing at home I feel like I really DID something. If I finish a big project at work I'm like 'Big Deal!'. I think I would feel like I was contributing something worthwhile by making a home for my husband and (future) children than I can at work.
Or maybe this is just PMS!

I feel the same way at my job...but it's cuz the management/ownership is quite sexist.....the woman do the same things as the men but don't nearly make as much!!!I know we'll be leaving NY soon, so this job is now temporary and I don't put any more effort into it than I have to......my real job is to be a good wife and mom which I know I'll excel at!!!

Re: Anyone feel like they aren't accomplishing anything at work?
I totally hear ya on this, I definitely feel the same way.I work for an electronics distribution company and Im in sales.
Not only is the subject matter completely boring but I feel that everyday I do
the same old thing, none of my work really makes a difference in anyone's life.
Yet I have stayed with this job for three long years. I cant seem to get myself motivated
to try something new, Its pretty sad and strange becuase I see my self as a pretty motivated
person in other parts of my life with the exception of my career. I think I just get comfortable
with a routine or something.

I'd really like to just be a homemaker but with the cost-of-living on LI it would be really tough and I don't want to put any undue pressure on DH by being the sole moneymaker.Hopefully I can go PT after we start having kids.

You mean being on LIWeddings all day long is not accomplishing anything???
I feel your pain, but am not in a field I love, so i really don't care. It pays the bills until the baby is born and then I stay home. Welcome New Vendors
