Anyone have a great car insurance broker?

Anyone have a great car insurance broker?

DH and I currently are insured by Met Life. We have 3 cars - one 1999, one 2001 and one 1987. The 87 is a jeep and only has liability. The 2001 is mine and it's an SUV and the 99 is a pickup, that's DH's. We pay $325 a month. I think that's very high. We talked to the dad of one of DH's friends, who is a state farm agent, and he can get us down to $300 a month, which is better, yes, but not a lot at all. Anyone know if this is high? Or have a great broker I can run some numbers by?? We are insured through a broker now and he says Met Life is the best for us but I am not sure.

Oh, we also have a ton of discounts with that rate - alarms, ABS brakes, daytime running lights, defensive driving, etc. The whole nine yards. No tickets or accidents in the last 3 years.

TIA!

(I got my mind on my money and my money on my mind today, can you tell?? )

Jenn, that sounds extremely high! We have 2 cars 2004 & 2005 and pay about $250 per month with full coverage @ the maximums. You dont have to go through a broker, just go to the insurance companies websites and do an online quote.

I know, right? It is crazy high and I don't understand why.

I am asking for a broker because they can run all the rates at once. It would take me all weekend to get quotes at all the different companies. If I have to I will though! I don't want to pay more than $250 a month and I can't see why it's not possible.

He's our agent. He's with Allstate and our policies are insanely low. He added renters insurance plus my rings and it was like $10 more per month onto our car insurance. I honestly don't know how he swings the deals. Give him a call!

you can try progressives website, I know they give you quotes from other competitors as well as their own quote.

Thanks Colleen! I will call him and hopefully get a quote this month. Our policy is up Jan 28. I have jeweler's mutual for the rings and if I can get it all through the one insurance guy, that would be better. I pay JM once a year now and I hate making that payment - it's not a lot but it's better to break it up!!!

that is high! I work at an insurance company. If you're interested I can give you someone's # here who can try and beat that rate.

I don't know why, but geico has always quoted me ridiculously hugh numbers. I will give them a shot though .... i have friends who work there who always need people to get quotes from them to meet quotas :)
