Are red peppers bad for you?

Weird- I cook with red peppers all the time & last night I told dh we were going to have stuffed peppers for dinner tonight & he tells me that he heard that red peppers are unhealthy?

I dont think he knows what the heck he is talking about, but wanted to make sure

I found this re: all bell peppers but it's from some random site, not sure about accuracy of course.

Bell peppers come from the night shade family which are poisonous. Short term use may be fine and tasty but long term use is still unknown and may casue chronic health effects if used consistently over a long range basis. It has not been proven by the FDA or anyone but many Naturalpathics and herbologists suggest when in doubt avoid it. 01/12/2009

ETA: That's the only thing I found re: bad stuff. Everything else says how healthy bell peppers are and does not address different color peppers. I love 'em and will still eat 'em.

Long term use is still unknown? People have been eating peppers for hundreds of years, if not longer. How much more long term are they looking for?
