Are you a morning person and your DH is not...or vesa versa?

I wake up all happy and raring to go. I am such a morning person and my DH is grumpy until he drinks at least 2 cups of coffee! He don't like that I am such a morning person and I dislike him being so grumpy until the coffee. He calls me his Engergizer Bunny....does anyone else have this problem.
This seems to be the only problem we have. Sounds like a small problem but to us it is not!

Re: Are you a morning person and your DH is not...or vesa versa?

We have the same problem (and it is a problem), but in reverse. I am not human in the morning - I just can''t be. No matter how much sleep or what I do, I prefer not to speak for about an hour after I wake up.

DH just jumps out of bed and is awake and happy and too d*mn perky!! I want to kill him! He''s not thrilled with me either.

Now that we have babies, I try to deal with them as calm and happy as possible, but DH sings and dances at 6:30 in the morning for them! Meanwhile, I''m trying to make their breakfast and change them and all I want is quiet! We have morning fights at least 3x a week, but we''ve learned to just let them go.

See, opposites attract!

I am a morning person and husband a night person. On his days off he likes to sleep late where I like to run out and start my day. He doesn work different shifts with his job so that has a bit to do with it.

Hubby is sooooo a morning person. He wakes up at about 5am for no reason and is so happy and chipper. I on the other hand have to be dragged out of bed. By the time I get up he has watched a movie, had breakfast and coffee...But at night I am wide awake and ready to go and he is passed out by 10pm!

I am a morning person and DH is not. He works at 3 am during the week, so all he wants to do on the weekend is sleep in late, so I let him slepp unitl 10:30 and then he wants me to wake him up. I like having the few hours to myself in the am on the weekends, so I can watch tv that I have taped, and get things done that I wnat to do for myself.

Re: Are you a morning person and your DH is not...or vesa versa?

DH is such a grouch in the mornings. On weekends, me and my stepson both get up at like 7 am, have breakfast watch TV, go on the computer. All of this until DH eventually wakes up around noon. And then He's STILL grumpy, he sends our son to the store to get him Dunkin Donuts coffee. I have started to make him coffee now, but he only likes Hazlenut........ So if I don't have hazlenut hot and ready to go, off goes my stepson to the store.
It's fine with me unless we have an early appt somewhere. Then I have to get him up and deal with his crabbiness for at least 2 hours.

Worst part is he's a night owl, so when I want to sleep it's a fight to get him to turn down the TV, and keep quiet

Re: Are you a morning person and your DH is not...or vesa versa?

We're both night people, but because of my job, and the fact that if I stay in bed late in the morning I feel like I'm wasting the day, I tend to get up earlier than him. I guess I just need less sleep than him in general.

We can both sit up until 3 a.m., but I can't stay in bed past 9:30 in the morning, while he can sleep until 1 in the afternoon!

That bothers me. Especially if it's his day off and I'm sitting around waiting for him to get up, feeling like I'm missing a nice day and time spent together.

Also, there's only so much you can do without making too much 'noise.' I refuse to sit quietly until 1 or 2 in the afternoon, and then have to start my day, cleaning, or whatever, that late.

We haven't worked it out yet. But I'm sure we will very soon.....

I'm such a morning person and have so much energy in the am. DH, on the other hand, want me to stay in bed and cuddle until 11 am. It's so hard because I can get so much done in the am!

Re: Are you a morning person and your DH is not...or vesa versa?

Since we both work graveyard shifts-i'd have to say we are night people. Even on our nights off we can never fall asleep before 1 or 2am.

Re: Are you a morning person and your DH is not...or vesa versa?

He's the morning person and I'm the night person. I prefer not to talk for the first hour in the morning. While he is bopping around the house and chatting up a storm. Now the reverse at night he starts falling asleep on the couch between 8-9 while I'm bopping around the house till 11 or so.
