Are you HIS type and is he YOUR type?

Ok so a co-worker asked me this and it made me think. Are you your husband's 'type' and is he yours?

Like I know my husband is attracted to women with darker skin and dark hair. He has a thing for Indian chicks big time. but I am his first girlfriend 'of color'.

Anyway, I am his type but he actualyl was NOT MY type! Crazy huh? I never liked men with tatoos, or hige muscles or who were gearheads and liked guns and fast cars. I prefered the funny guy who was usually smart but a clown at the same time and who could make me laugh. I was intimidated by attractive men so my exes were never the 'hot' guys at all.

But Pete is everything I wasn't looking for and YET he is TOTALLY my type in that we cimpliment one another so well. Yes he drives me nuts 15% of the time but generally we work great AND he's HOT.

Anyone else?

i don't think i ever really thought of 'types' with DH and i. i like guys who are tall & skinny and he liked girls with meat on their bones. that was it as far as types go for us.

i think we both have personality traits that we were drawn to in each other---but i really don't know what his 'type' was before me. i know i'm the first hispanic girl he dated....he always dated white girls. he's the first hispanic guy for me--(he's only 1/2 but still)--also tended to date white guys myself. so i guess we went against the type.

for me the only 'type' i think i have--is 'be good to me and just don't fuking cheat or i'll cut yo' d*ck off'

does that count as a type?

jen it's so funny ur posting this! IMMEDIATELY after i met DH, my mom was like 'soooo????' and no joke i said 'i dont know - i just dont know if he's my type' !!!! we always laugh about this... my mom was all 'what do u mean he's not ur type?? he's tall dark & handsome..what more 'type' do u need??'

SO true! most of the guys i dated just had a great sense of humor...usually skinny and just SO not the same style as josh...usually little-er guys lol just thinner and just a different style... jeans, funny t-shirt & a hat??? hard to explain unless u see the guys i guess???) i dont know - i just never dated a hunky guy before!

...but no worries...within 3day Josh was 'my type' who knew that guys could be funny as hel l AND hot


as for josh - all the girls he dated before me were dogs!!! i'm not just saying that - they really were! so whenever he rips on the guys i dated I always throw it back at him he dated all completely different types of girls... a few of them were very athletic - which i am not lol (i mean - i'm an excersise nut & i do love sports & enjoy playing them...but i was never on any teams or anything - i was on the dance team lol). but anyway, i'd say he has a thing for blondes. but other than that - he's always gone more for personality i guess!

I'm not really sure what my DH's type was... I never met any of his ex girlfriends OR saw pictures of them..

I used to date a lot of *artsy* effeminant type guys.. (borderline gay men...) and I ALWAYS thought that was my type..

DH is the opposite... BIG time sports freak... typical 'guys guy..'

physically he is my type... tall & slender.

seriously... i AM a fag hag.. I had 2 drag queens at my baby shower!!!

anytime we go out, my DH gets angry with me b/c I talk to guys...

I love drag queens../ I honestly wish I was a man JUST so I can be one.

I've dated the 'type' gamut...long-haired guitar player, sports nut, preppy business type, male nurse, cop...and then came DH...which i don't know what category he'd be in...large bald loud wrestler type?? haha...i never imagined I'd marry a bald guy...since i used to love men with long hair...but he is everything i had given up on in a man...all in one package!

Now i don't know if i'm his type at all...his last serious GF was also a graphic designer, rides a Harley (i got my mc license) and had tons of tattoos and body piercings and is like 18 years older than me! SO we have similar personalities i guess but sure look different! We always joke that he never imagined marrying someone like me...i am not your average chick...like lots of man stuff...probably more than DH!

hmm, i am attracted to guys with funny personalities. my husband has me laughing all the time, so i guess he fit the type in that sense.


as for him, i dont think he had a type either..


oh edited to say that he fit my type in the sense that he wasn't a business suit kinda guy or a metro sexual type. gag!!!
i liked laid back, t shirt and jeans kind of guy!

Looks wise I usually went out with scruffy/nedrdy looking boys. A few of them were in bands and i loved that!!! Personality wise I liked guys that joked around and treated me like a friend from the start non of the awkward dating games. I hate those rules people have it makes things so weird. DH and I have the perfect personality match and although I wishe he would scruff it up from time to time he is still hotttt.

Based on the skirts DH thinks I should wear I think his type is a 42nd street prostitute. I don't really know his type. I know he dated a girl that worked in Country Fried Chicken because she gave him free chicken dinners

Ok had to jump in here. One of my exes-little Irish guy who was my height and weight, He was SOOO jealous and who was he jealous OF you ask? MY GAY manager...wait let me clarify...My manager at the bookstore who had once been a Male for Male ESCORT!!!!

i am not really sure if he is my type or if he BECAME my type since we have been together since we were 15

but his type is like 5 foot and 80lbs which he seems to think that i STILL am for some reason

he will point someone out and say oh look she got a little heavy, and this girl is no joke 30 lbs lighter than ME and he just doesnt see it. . .he still thinks i am teeny tiny like when we first met . . . hopefully it stays that way

i tend to be attracted to bigger guys with dark hair and light eyes - also not even a hint of metrosexual - a 'manly man' if you will

and as i type i cant help but think of 'we're men, men in tights. . . !!' lol

DH was not my typical type...I always liked dark hair, dark eyes..he's blonde-ish hair, green eyes. But I fell in love with him regardless.

I, however, am definitely his type. All his celeb-crushes are, like me, brunettes with brown eyes: Anne Hathaway, Diane Lane, Catherine Zeta Jones, etc.

Yea, he's definitely my type. Tall and skinny!

And I guess I'm his type since he likes brunettes.



And don't feel bad about the effeminate guys. I STILL have a huge crush on Clay Aiken even though he's probably gay! After DH and I started dating my brother in law said he was happy I wound up with a real man and not a faggy guy like Clay!
