Are you renewing your vows?

It's 6:22am NY time, 4:22am Cabo time and I can't sleep guess I'm too excited for our jetskiing trip that we're taking today.

So anyway, are you thinking of renewing your vows? I don't know if we're going to do the whole official vow renewal...but I definitely plan on having a huge party and toasting DH and our 10 years together.

what about you?

No the only thing I renew are library books.

Since we got married on Thanksgiving, we plan to host Thanksgiving dinner in the future (at least this year) and toast US

We wanted to get married at Disney but too expensive so we might wait to our 5 year and maybe have a little gathering and have a renewal ceremony there.

I think I remember saying something to DH either the night of our wedding or over the honeymoon .... making him promise that we NEVER have to do that again!!!

(meaning the whole reception thing)

I was watching an Oprah a while ago, and she had Seal and Heidi Klum on. They renew their vows every year on their anniversary, with all their friends and family there. I thought that was really romantic and sweet.

But not something I'd want to do ....

I guess I could see a small beach side ceremony for a special anniversary though. Who knows?!

oh yeah i would never do the whole thing over again
and thats funny bc in the limo ride to the reception i said i will never plan another effing thing for as long as i live

i mean just us and an officiant not even family members there

I definitly plan on having a huge celebration for our 10 year wedding anniversary...whether well renew our vows there im not sure....but i would like to have a huge celebration with family and freinds for sure.

My parents went to a 25th wedding anniversary party where the couple renewed their vows and it was at a catering hall. Everyone brought presents/envelopes, my mom said there were centerpieces....it was the whole shebang lol.

My parents had 25th anniversary renewal......we were the bridesmaids and my brother was my Dads best man. We had a church ceremony & a small reception (actually the smaller room at Smithtown Landing) I loved it b/c it was nice to see my parents get re-married!

We had fun...i don't think anyone brought gifts though.


but about DH & I......I would think so but man...that's a long ways away!

No, i dont' think so.... perhaps a Mass or something like that for a big anniversary. I think you made them once, you should onyl renew them at BIG milestones---like say 50 years or something.

lol, we already did!!!! 3 months after our wedding, we renewed our vows at TWOTY.

i think for our 5th, 10th, 25th or whatever, i'd love to do a renewal on a beach just us or withvery close family & friends, but not do the whole big thing again.

Yes..we have talked about it and at the 5yr mark we will 'elope' like I wanted to.....We have been thinking Sandals in the Bahamas. They way I look at it is this: I have never been married for 5yrs, Joe has never been married for 5yrs and a lot of marriages end before 5yrs so why not celebrate it. 10-15-20-25-30-35-40-45-50 will all be big trips and vacations, but right now 5-25-50 will more then likely be a renewal of some kind. 25 and 50 w/family i'm sure
