Re: Are you starting any new traditions?
We didn't start any holiday traditions, but we hold a date night once a week, and we never go to bed angry. I don't know if that is really like a tradition, but it is something that we both feel strongly about. And from now until eternity DH and I will hold Thanksgiving... Even if it means bringing up all kinds of tables from the basement and eating in the living room.

DH and I have always been the party planners in our family/friends. We hold almost weekly BBQs in the summer. Its become a tradition and everyone knows as soon as the summer comes to get ready for Jenn and Chris' Beer-B-Qs

Re: Are you starting any new traditions?
What a Great Thread....We really don't have any Traditions.
We used to have DH's parents, bother & SIL, over for Thanksgiving & the day after Christmas, but now, his parents moved to Florida so that's the end of that Tradition.
We always go Big Out for the 4th of July. We get Fireworks, and spend it with DH's parnets, family, Aunts & Uncles, & cousins. His parents flew up for this past 4th of July, however it was Raining so we couldn't do any firworks. Thanks God we has a Stash left from last year, & did not spend $$ on them.
Other then that, Let me think of some more. I am sure I have many.

Re: Are you starting any new traditions?
Yes we will be having a Trim a Tree Party the week or two before christmas every year. Every guest comes to the party with a Christmas Ornament which they love or that resembles us. We then have them put there names and date on the back of the ornament in black permanent marker, then they put it on our tree. Many years from now you look back and see all these beautiful memories of you family and friends. Its by far my favorite christmas tradition ever, my parents started the tradition when they got married and my older brother has been doing it since he was 19, which is about 6 years before he got married, he will now be married for 20 years with three kids, so all those crazy funny parties he had before he was married, the memories, all are still on there tree. Its so fun to look at all the years of me growing up via each ornament, my sister who passed away 15 years ago, seeing her ornaments make me smile so much, same with my dads. Also I get to see who I was with (dating) when I was younger for all those years, all the friends past and present.........

Re: Are you starting any new traditions?
what a great thread! I want us to start a new tradition!!! I just don't know what I think that part of the problem is that we live in an apartment, and we can only fit so many people. We have his side of the family, and my side.....and then my parents were divorced so there are 2 sides there...... maybe we'll just start our own. I'VE GOT IT! Taking vacation every winter!!!! I'm going to call DH right now and tell him about our new family tradition.

We do the same thing and we MUST kiss goodnight. my moms best friend told us that the day of our wedding, to never go to bed mad and to always kiss goodnight and since then we make sure to do so. I want to start a tradition also but not sure what that will be yet. we live in an apartment its pretty big but not like a house. i either want to host thanksgiving or x-mas. i think x-max because i love having family together on that day. its hard tho cause DH parents are not together and they both have someone eles now and its really hard because if his mom comes his dad wont go and so on. grr ill find something lol

Re: Are you starting any new traditions?
We always kiss good-night and say 'I love you' before falling asleep. I do the same when I leave for work in the morning. And I always open the door for him when he gets home from work, I like to welcome him home like a 50's house-wife!!
As for holiday traditions, we don't really have any yet. This year we had a BBQ for Memorial Day, so maybe we'll make that a tradition every year. And we'd like to get the basement finished and make a TV room down there so we can have a Superbowl party every year.

Re: Are you starting any new traditions?
We had the two families over last year for a pot-luck style party so they could get to know each other before the wedding. It went really well and we're thinking of doing that every year now....so that could be a new one.
We've do 4th of July at our house (it's DH's b-day) and we have an annual Halloween party too. Everyone talks about these two parties all year long so we get really excited about them !!

Re: Are you starting any new traditions?
Let's see:
For the two months we've been married we came up with these new traditions:
1) Date night once a week
2) I make dinner every day and we do the dishes together right after. He'll wash and I'll dry.
3) We DVR old friends episodes throughout the day and watch two episodes in bed right before we go to sleep.
4) We always kiss Good night
5) Oh this is a good one! Our wedding night DH ordered a ton of roses and had them (as well as rose petals) scattered all through the house. The morning after our wedding I came out of the shower to find a beautiful rose on my folded towel. DH did this for the next two days and then we had to throw out the roses b/c we left on our HM. The night we got back, I took a shower and when I came out, my incredible hubby MADE me a rose out of cardboard and placed it on my folded towel!!! He now does this for me every time I take a shower.

We do the 1st 2, but I love the last one. makes me ------------------DH & I are our going to name our children w/ K names. Our last initial is K, we won't make their middle initial K, I promise. I have a friend & all the kids & the grandkids names start w/ M. I thought that was neat. So, DH & I are always trying to come up w/ cool K names. Suggestions welcome
