Are/did you eat top layer of wedding cake on first anniversary?

DH thinks its crazy to wait a year to eat the cake. He says that it is gross to eat cake a year old. I wouldn't mind having it on our year anniversary; however, DH thinks we should have it on our one month anniversary (which is tomorrow) instead.
Did you or are you planning to eat the top layer of your wedding cake on your 1 year anniversary? If so was it horrible??

we had the bakery make the exact same cake in an 6inch and I ate it while my husband was doing P90X in the next room....

We kept is in our freezer but we ordered a top tier replicated from our wedding cake for our 1 year. We both agreed it was a gross thing to do.
