and some of the other long-haired brides - julissa, dgtlsunshine, annmarie 13 - I need your help -
After looking through all of your beautiful photos I would like to know how you kept your veil on your head. Was it attached with a headband, comb, etc? I'm getting married soon and I'm trying to decide what to do. I want to wear my hair 1/2 up - 1/2 down with my veil all night.
Any suggestions? TIA for your help. I look forward to joining you all after April 25.
I think it was held in by a GAZILLION bobby pins.. My veil was attached to a comb- the front of the comb was wrapped with real freshwater pearls and swarovski crystals..
the veil didn't fall off at all- it was very secure all night- I actually don't recall checking it once.
Basically what they did (and I wore my hair 1/2 up 1/2 down too) was she pulled the front back and sort of made a part at the top (crown) of my head and jammed the comb in there..
My hair was not super long but I figured I would respond anyway. I had a ton of bobbpins holding my hair up and as far as my veil, what she did was break of few of the teeth off of the comb (on the veil) she said it holds better this way and a also a few bobby pins. It was so snug, it only came off when I took it off towards the end of the reception.
My tiara was made for me and the woman put some velcro on it and to my veil and it stayed on like that all night untill i took it off. i had half up and half down,
I decided to wear my hair down at the very last minute. I had two veils. The regular veil was ok it had a comb. However the cathedral veil if it got caught on to anything would just slide right out of my hair.
I had a hair piece in my hair. At the last minute one of my bridesmaids put the comb that attached the cathedral veil under the hair piece and that kept it in place.
If you wear a cathedral veil make sure it is attached very tightly. People were stepping on mine all day.
I actually asked the bridal shop to sew very small loops to the headpiece I wore, b/c combs never stay in my thick hair. So, my hairdresser just had to position the headpiece and then use bobby pins to secure it.
HTH!
Best wishes for a wonderful wedding day, and a blessed marriage!
