For those of you who are already momnies or who are pregnant or who want to be a mom... (not yet - i promise to share when it's time).....
i'm trying to think of fun ways to let Dave and our parents know we're pregnant...
For Dave - i'm thinking of ordering a baby Steelers or Yankees jersey & walking into his job with it...but i really don't know if he'll GET that... He's a HUGE sports fan....

Although I'm not a mommy, I would like to be able to tell my parents, my ILs and DHs grandparents by inviting them to Yule dinner (pagan holiday,) and give them each a picture in a frame with our my sonigram, in frames that say 'look at me grandma' or something like that!

Getting our families together though is NOT easy - don't live in the same state - and even though it's only NY & NJ - you'd think it was NY & Cali...

Some people buy bibs saying I love daddy or Grandma etc.. ! People put there sonos in a pic frame !!
As for us we didnt do anything but anounce it @ Thanksgiving dinner with all our family around

I'm pretty sure that I won't be 'able' to surprise Vin. When the time comes, he'll probably be in the bathroom with me while I'm peeing
As for grandparents, I'm sure I'll get my father something Harley Davidson related for kids and give that to him. He isn't mushy or open with his feelings. I'm almost 100% no matter what I do he'll just say 'congrats' and give me a hug/pat on thehead..

I think bringing the baby jerseys into his job is a great idea...it might take him a minute to figure it out but I think he would get it-maybe

my cousin in law well she will be...
she came over with cards like hallmark cards...
earlier that day seh gave one to her son and the card said somethign like 'happy birthday '... the kid was sooo confused
but inside there was a note saying... save this card, you will need it in 9 months when u have a brother or sister to give it to!!! u will be an older brother! and also was a sonogram picture...
that afternoon they came to FH's house with my IL's and each handed us a card... they were all personalized....
mine witn FH said 'congratulations... u will be an aunt and uncle!' same with his parents!!!
we saw them and we all cried! it was great bc we were all together and then we procedded to call her parents in argentina with them there.
Edit: they knew right away adn wanted to share the news so this was really spur of the moment planning as well.

08er crashing... if you think someone might have an awesome reaction, you might want to try to videotape it somehow.
we surprised my grandparents (who i am very very close with) with the news of our engagement, and my sis videotaped it --- my grandpa started singing and my grandma was equally excited and freaked out. it's something we will love to look back on.
might be nice to show a future down the road.

Joe will be with me when i'm peeing on the stick so...no suprise there.
My mom...she is in LOVE with our dog Gus so we'll get him a shirt that says i'm going to be a bib brother in........(whatever month the baby is due) to put on him when mom comes to get him for the night and f course a sono pic, and bib
My dad, step mom, grandparents,his family, brothers and sister will all get bibs that say I love grandma, grandpa, and so on.....Parents will also get a picture frame witha sono pic in it. The frame will say Coming to a crib near you...That's what I have so far but it will all change when we do get pg i'm sure

my dad will bawl like a baby!!!!!!!!! he's gotten rather emotional over the years....and my best friends' dad will cry JUST AS MUCH if not more...
My mom will immediately worry about my health.
Dave's mom will be estatic and his dad is not emotional at all - he'll just laugh and go - wow.
Dave - i so badly want to surprise him - i'm pretty good at those things - so i so badly want to do something cute!

I don't know if you are on LiFamilies, but Beaviss80 and her hubby did the cutest thing to tell their parents.
i'm not on LIF - i don't live on Long Island - i'm a NJ girl who grew up on and got married on LI...wasn't sure if it'd be okay....

I LOVE that idea- but you know why, since we're both Steelers/Yankees fans too. He will TOTALLY get that!
I'll have to do the same thing when the time comes!
I love the name on the Yankee frame. But DH's middle name isn't Christopher.

we are going to fo the pic frame with the sono in it. im going to wrap it up each for my mom and dad and brother and have something on it saying your going to be my grandma/grandpa/uncle. and for DH doing the pic frame and a little mets shirt cause he LOVES the mets
