Baby question

Original post by RitasEngaged

I always wanted a child but when i moved in with fh, got my pup, i changed my mind - i really could not see one in my life

and that never changed

now that i am married all of a sudden i want one so bad. Is this normal - did you all feel this way

I feel like things are going to be so boring now with no wedding stuff and i know this sounds awful but i feel like a baby would occupy my now spare time lol

just curious if this happened to anyone

Re: Baby question

rita i was in the same situation! i wanted HM babies all the way and then we got a puppy in january and i was like umm no thanks, i think i'll wait.
then after we got married...the question arose of should i keep taking the pill cuz my pack is up. i never picked up another pack so i havent been on it now in about a month. John's opinion on the matter is if we have one now...cool....if we wait...thats cool too. didnt really help me!
but i agree with you where i dont think anyone is ever 'ready'. when the baby comes you just make yourself ready!

Re: Baby question

Well I have a 15 year old already and if he wasnt so old I would have another one. With that being said DH and I arent having kids unless we hit the lotto and I can stay home. Its not that I think Im too old to have one its just that I will finally have time to do things I/ we want since my son will graduate in 3 yrs. Some my say it's selfish but, Ive been a mother since I was 20 and didnt get to have alot of freedom. Plus can you see me saying yes my son is in his 1st year of college and this is my newborn

Re: Baby question

Rita, when it happens it happens. take it from me.
raising a puppy is a lot of work but also is going to give me a lot of experience when our little one is born

Re: Baby question

totally happened to me. For the first 2 months after we got back from our HM I had baby fever big time. It's still there in the back of our mindsbut we've prioritized careers for now. We both have major jobs that we've been very successful with (plus I got a mega job promotion and started a month ago).

BUT I'm 31 and DH is turning 35 this summer so we're going to get moving on the process sooner than later. If we were in our mid twenties we'd be waiting..

Re: Baby question

My biggest goal in life is to be a mother, I feel like it's my calling. And DH will be the best father. We've been actively trying (charting, temping, ovulation kits) since the HM. We're really hoping that this month is our month!

Re: Baby question

DH and I both want children very much, but we are planning to wait a few years. I want to make sure my career is secure and finish grad. school first. We also live in an apartment and I would like to be in our own home first. It seems like we will never be able to save! Every time I save anything, I have to pay for another grad. class, but I guess that will all be worth it, and I have to be patient. DH is 25 and I turn 25 this month. We figure by the time we are 28, maybe we will be financially ready.
