oh wow, they look great! Did you have prior experience, and how hard/easy was this?

no prior experience and I am so not in the slightest bit artsy so if I can do it you can definitely do it. It was easy, they teach you everything step by step. It is a little pricey because you have to buy all the supplies

WOW - MikeandJess I am impressed!!!!

How do you do that weaving effect? Does it take forever?

I love the golf one! How did you do that? I am so jealous!

Thanks! The weaving technique doesn't take as long as you'd think, it's pretty easy. The only problem is by the time your done your hand feels like you're 95 with the worst athritis ever.

The golf one is really just a tip that wilton makes and when you squeeze out the icing it looks like grass. Kind of like play dough. You don't even need a class for that they show you all the techniques on wilton.com.

I know there is also a cooking school in lynbrook. I'm trying to remember the name

In Lynbrook, really? Do you know where?

the lynbrook school is on atlantic ave between sunrise and merrick road. it is across the street from the broadway beanery.

Oh wow, that's weird, I have to take notice. I lived there for awhile and I'm still there often. I don't remember ever noticing it. Good to know. Thanks!

OMG, Jess, I'm sooo impressed!! I was going to say, you must have a natural talent for it because you really did an amazing job for a few classes! I don't think i would be able to just pick it up like that. It would be nice to try though.

I just may do this since I am in queens and have been looking for some place to learn a little more. Do you know how much the classes are?? I don't think I see prices on the site.

I just called...I wanted the Basic level because i never used gumpaste or fonant and its $400 for 12 weeks...meets once a week.

Colleen, I took part 1 already, but I would take part 2 with you. Or, I might retake 1 for fun b/c I already have all the stuff. I think the closest one to us is Levittown..or somewhere in suffolk.
