Barcelona Anyone ???

Dh and I are going to Barcelona for our One Year Anniversary!

Anyone ever been there.? Can you recommend a hotel, sight to see or thing to do?

okay, well we only went to Barcelona for a few days... we went to spain in 2005 and stayed in madrid, but did a mini trip to barcelona while we were there.

we visited Camp Nou...





our hotel was right near the sagrada familia



you MUST visit the Parc Guell! it was amazing and so beautiful...



Arc de Triumf is nice too...



there's also the Gothic Quarter (barri gotico)

this was our hotel... nothing fancy, but it had AC and was inexpensive (we booked very last minute)



there's also Las Ramblas which is great for just spending the afternoon walking around.

again, we didn't do TOO much since we were only there a short time.. but it was beautiful! steve loved barcelona - I think I liked madrid better. FYI - the flight is only like an hour I think from Barcelona to Madrid if you want to visit there too! And it was actually cheaper than taking the train!

I love how the first part of your comments are regarding Camp Nou!! DH is a huge FC Barcelona fan (only after Celtic!!) and the whole reason why I talked him into Barcelona in the first place was - a promise to go and see Camp Nou if we went to Barcelona!! Soccerhead!!!

Honestly, though, I have a huge fondness for Barca too! They have a woman's team as well and I cannot help but imagine myself....


Anyway, you're pictures are fantastic. Thanks for posting them! Sagrada Familia is now 'officially' on the list now! Only hope we have as much fun as you two did !

we took SO many pictures there!

In madrid we also went to santiago bernabeu where real madrid plays...

there was more to see there... you could go into the lockerooms and there's a little museum type thing...
