Bathing Suit Help...

Does anyone have any recommendations for Bathing suit retailers that work for not so slim (thats me :D)

Going on vacation in April, need a new suit badly!!

Im sort of partial to those tankini styles.

To be honest, the tankini kind make me look even bigger, if that's possible! I buy most of my suits from J crew's website. They're pretty plain, but I think they fit me well, and they're very comfortable

I'm not so slim - I always find something at Lord & Taylor or Bloomingdale's. Gottex is a brand that happens to work well for me and they cary it in both stores.

I look like cra$ in ALL bathing suits so lipo is the only help that I need.
But I do have a tankini and it looks better than a lot of other suits. But again, nothing really looks good.

I got a really cute tank/shorts combo at old navy last year. was very comfy as far as my not being self-conscious, i got it in 2 colors...

i think they have similar ones this year also..

Stef... if you don't mind spending the extra, check out stores that specialize in Bathing suits. I found one in Merrick I think, pricey, but maybe worth it. Also, I did really well in Sears last year, great prices & the fit was really good too!!! I got them for my honeymoon, I was in a size 12, so not plus either, just NOT SKINNY!!!

I have a stomach problem, meaning I have a big stomach so a tankini works for me.

Re: Bathing Suit Help...

I have problems all over :D

Thanks for the tips girls. Since I dont think I will have much of a chance to get to a mall before we go away, i think I need to find something online.

Has anyone ever ordered from Eddie Bauer before? I didnt even realize they sold clothing but this looks cute:

Re: Bathing Suit Help...

You didn't realize EB sold clothing or bathing suits? I have ordered clothes and a bathing suit for them and they are nice. How about Lands End? Order on-line, I ordered a black very plain suit from them years ago and it lasted a very long time.

Re: Bathing Suit Help...

Stef, that one that you posted is for a older person. Me no like. You can get great coverage and still look young and great

I think it is a little grandma. Sorry just my $.02

Maybe with a different bottom. Is that a skirt or boy shorts?

Re: Bathing Suit Help...

Shamma that top one is hot! My cleavage would be all over the place in a top like that. Duh maybe that is the point

Re: Bathing Suit Help...

I love the VS ones you posted but their tankinis are always cropped right where I dont want them to be PLUS my boobs are already big enough so the mircale thing aint doing nothing for me :D

The bathing suit from EB is a skirt thingy i think.

Love this but it would totally screw up my tan:

Re: Bathing Suit Help...

Stef...if you can get to a California Sunshine store, they are awesome. You can pick and choose your top and bottom to suit you (no pun intended). They carry a line called Swim Systems that does this....they are great.

I never thought I could get into a tankini until I went here! You can order online too.
