My BM's and my mom split the cost between them. I had 5 BM's.

My mom paid for mine, my matron of honor took care of the favors and centerpieces and other decorations.
My bridesmaids were basically worthless, so my Mom knew not to count on them

It really depends - all of the weddings I've been in I've been lucky enough that the MOB payed for it! I know other people who have had to pay for some of it or all of it.

my mom paid mostly and a few bridesmaids gave her a few doillars toward it

It really depends. on the financial situation of the BMs. My mom, sister (MOH) and aunt paid for mine. My BMs ranged from 21 to 30, and aside from the 30 year old, DHs sister, everyone was either just out of school or still in school .

My BM were 'supposed' to pay for my shower, but half of them didn't give in the amount they had all agreed upon. So my sister wound up paying about $350, my SIL $200, 1 BM $150 (the agreed upon amount), 2 BM paid $100 and my other BM only pit in $50. My MIL wound up putting in the difference.

My bridal party and my mom paid for it. My Moh contributed more than the bridesmaids though because she was my sister.

My mom paid for the restaurant bill and the BM all chipped in for the other stuff....ie: Decorations, favors, cake, flowers, gift, etc.
