Best vacation spot to snorkel??

You guys have always been so helpful so I thought i'd ask for some advice. DH and I want to go on vacation in August. We were originally thinking of going to RIVERA MAYA, but after reading some reviews....not sure the snorkeling is that great.

So if anyone can let me know where a good vacation spots that also have good snorkeling please please let me know!! We're thinking of going to Mexico or the Carribean...or basically anywhere US Airways travels since we have free airfare on US Airways..

Trunk Bay in St. John. Amazing clear water and they even have an underwater snorkel trail.

The Molokini Crater off Maui AND Hanauma Bay on Oahu. Absolutely unreal.

I second Molokini Crater. Depending on the month you it could have a lot of Jelly Fish. Hanauma Bay is great too but it gets very crowded. Once you pass the crowd and finally gets to the water, you will definetely see a lot of fishes. If you go a bit farther, you might see some good one like turtles or baby sharks

I second Molokini Crater. Depending on the month you it could have a lot of Jelly Fish. Hanauma Bay is great too but it gets very crowded. Once you pass the crowd and finally gets to the water, you will definetely see a lot of fishes. If you go a bit farther, you might see some good one like turtles or baby sharks

St. John seems to a be a favorite too...I'll have to do some research

What about Mexico? Cozemel perhaps??

We've been to Cozemel (while cruising) and they do have a great snorkeling area. I'm sure where ever in Carribean Island you go they have plenty vendor/boat that will take you to the perfect snorkeling places

PS - bring a doggy biscuit - it attract lots of fishes

definitely agree -- Molokini Crater is awesome!! we loved that spot on our HM

also anywhere in Tahiti is incredible!! the water there is amazing!!

So does cereal We used to take the little boxes from our cruise ship and then oppen the bag under water......a few times we had to let the bag go because we were being attacked
