Beyonce's 'skin lift'

Beyonce's 'skin lift'

ok so I feel both sides here. Was it wrong for Loreal to 'lighten' her up? YEP. I mean come on now. The girl isn't that dark to begin with.

However... Do I think it was meant to be a malicious slap to the black community? Not really sure. Mainly because something similar was done recently to Angelina Jolie (they removed her mole on some magazine and did something to her skin coloring) and Britney (dont remember what they did to her other than MAJOR face work and hair lightening and styling via mouse click) and they about as pale as you can get.

I think its less of a case of racial photoshopping as it is plain old TOO MUCH photoshpping in general. What happened to natural beauty? Why the heck do women who are this gorgeous in the first place, need help by some geek with a mouse?

As far as the Beyonce thing, shame on L'Oreal for jumping on the photoshopping bandwagon. I personally would be annoyed. But at the same time, its a weird gray area because in some other pics without LOreals help she looks pretty pale. Did they take it too far? Yes. Do i think it should be made as big a deal as it is? No. I am one of those women who can be a paler honey or DARK DARK and alot depends on my color at the time. And if I got a tan.

My beef with AOL inciting it was why was that particular pic of her used in the comparison? I mean I have always seen her with honey colored hair and she's tan like me all year round but usually with some level of blonde hair.

Again, I don't think it was a nice thing they did but do i think its racial as much as the beauty world peopel are a bunch of Azzes who want unobntainable perfection, no. Down to the photoshopping dingles!

I think she tends to look pretty pale in general depending on the occasion, maybe how much sun she has gotten, etc, so I don't think it's that huge a deal. I do think it stinks that make-up companies airbrush their adds for make-up, just seems like such c r a p even though we know they do it.

Photoshopping in general *****....just let them be the beautiful women they are!

AGREED! Like Angeline Jolie is gorgeous. What help does that woman need? Yet they took out her mole on one issue and not the other. Nonsense.

I agree that its about magazines taking photoshopping too far. They are taking people who are a size 8 and making them a size 4 in pictures, they completely re-do their faces. I understand a few things here and there but some people they completely change.

Also beyonce can look pale many times. Lighting will also make a big difference, the first picture could just be bad lighting. I have pics all from the same night and i will look pale in some and darker in others. Also depends what make up you use. I've been using a bronzer lately so of course ill look darker. Maybe she also got a tan in the first pic.

I dont think its a big deal bc she is so light skin to begin with! Also maybe they used a bright flash or did these pictures outdoors? that tends to wash people out! For instance...see below

Tan Jenna vs pale Jenna all in the same day!

That is what I was thinking looking at the pics, she could have also been really tan in the first pic, yes she is naturally a darker tone but she looks extremely dark in that first pic
