Black Tie

Black Tie

I have to go to a wedding this Friday evening 7 pm, on the card it says Black Tie. What should I be wearing? More importantly, does this mean that DH needs to rent a tux? He does have a black suit, not sure if he can get away with that. I really dont think he wants to spend money to rent a tux.

Please advise!

I have gone to a few black tie weddings. many men will wear a tux, but there will also be a lot with just a black suit. he should just wear his suit, with a dark tie and forego the rental.
