Looks like it's gonna be a white christmas after all!!! :) Just got a phone call from work and I'll be off tomorrow!! I'm so happy, I can stay home all snuggled underneath my blankets sleeping!! Did any ladies get caught in the snow out today?? I did some last minute shopping and the crowds were crazy in Times Sq.

Re: Blizzard of 09
DH and I went out tonight.
We live in Hicksville and had to go to a party in Commack. OMG the roads were insane. We took the LIE and saw so many people stuck. I was so scared that we weren't making it home.
I think I am staying in all day tomorrow. Not risking going out in this crazy weather!

We were at my parent's house in Rockland County (we live in Bergen County about 15 minutes away) almost the whole day. And we really didn't start getting heavy snow until around 7:00. We only got 3-4 inches, and driving home there was snow, but nothing too dangerous.

Re: Blizzard of 09
Just woke up an hour ago. HOLY GOD that's a lot of snow!!!!!!!
I had to help DH get ready for work- he is plowing today ALL day. Time and a half pay baby!!!!!
But yea, I cleaned his car, his Dad shoveled and DH was pushing the snowblower already.
The best part of all this is seeing my itty bitty chihuahua Mojo see snow for the first time and make little tunnels. It was so funny!

There has to be 18 inches easily. Its crazy. We can't even see the cars let along uncover them. DH is going to take the snowblower out but I think we are going to need a plow. I can't remember the last time I saw this much snow on Long Island.

We are in Westchester so it isn't as bad here but we had to drive over an hour in the snow last night. It was soooo scary.. The highway by our house is a narrow 2 lane highway with all windy roads and I was convinced we were going to slide off of it. We are going to stay in as much as possible today although I'd like DH to take me to the supermarket. His b-day is tomorrow so I'd like to make him a cake or something!

Yes... It was sooo bad last night! We were driving 15 mph on it the whole time.
Thanks! I'll let the old man know you said that!

I drove home in the thick of it last night at about 2am. The roads weren't great but I made it home with no issues and I drive a mini cooper so if I can get around pretty much anyone can....We are headed back out to do some shopping and visit MIL in a bit!!

We stayed in all day yesterday and now today as well... DH shoveled a little bit, but ultimately have to wait for our walkways to be plowed by maintenance... So far they are NOT doing their job
