boysss {insert ROLLING EYES here}

We had gone to pick up a treadmill awhile back and DH's bestman came with us (we needed his truck to haul it). So I found the one I wanted rather quickly. When Dh went to get something to put it on, me & the BM were left alone. He started reading the box to the treadmill and was like 'Hmm, it has a weight limit of only 250 pounds.' I could not resist asking him if he was implying that I weighed as much. He got so awkward, especially when DH got back and I told him that his friend was insulting me. hahaha. Poor guy. He's such a sweetie. But I may have been insulted if i was feeling fat that day - so I think he's learned to watch what he says to a GIRL! lol

But that got me thinking. Why on earth would a treadmill have a weight limit anyway? For me, I'm just basically working on losing 10 pounds, but am still in my healthy weight range. I have to assume that there are lots of people who get treadmills as well that need to lose a heck of a lot more. So when you're at an unhealthy weight and need to work out asap, doesn't it seem odd that you can't even get on the treadmill? Stupid that you'd need to buy a bigger more expensive one. I think they should all have a much heavier weight limit (or none at all). Not everybody who works out are already petite. lol
... just thinking out loud!!

That's odd.. doesn't seem like a high weight limit at all.. my DH weighs 285 so I guess we can't get a treadmill

yeah, that's what I thinking also. 250 really isn't that heavy depending on your height (ESPECIALLY for men) so I don't get it.

My dh is also somewhere near that. I think he's like 240-something and he gets on my treadmill also.

Wow, you'd think a treadmill would have a higher weight limit!

What if you were trying to lose weight and were very heavy? That makes no sense or sence...

exactly! or even what Laura pointed out - what if you're just a tall man?? I mean, my husband is 6'6. He's not overweight, but still weighs close to 250 due to his size. Come on - 250 is a LOW weight limit (esp for men who also use treadmills). And for an exercise machine which is made solely FOR health & losing weight? Not logical.
