Brazilian Hair Straightening

Brazilian Hair Straightening

Does anyone know anything about it? I posted about this a while ago and people told me not to do it because it has formaldehyde, but I called my hair salon and they said that it does not contain any formaldehyde (the old brazilian used to use it but I was told it was not allowed in the US). So now I am once again curious. It is around $350 and lasts about 4 months which is perfect- I do NOT want the japanese straightening because I have veryy curly hair and dont want to deal with 're-growth' I would rather something just eventually wash out. I really only need it for the summer time anyway- in the winter time my hair is very easy to straighten, it just gets too frizzy in the summer.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

The way my stylist explained it to me-it's NOT a straightening system, it's a keratin treatment and it doesn't straighten your hair, it takes away the frizz. I believe we have Keratin in our hair naturally so w/ the treatment it leaves your hair looking very healthy. It last about 4 months and is pricey.

My friend has done it twice and her hair looks awesome, very healthy & shiny and NO FRIZZ!!! If I could afford it now, I would def. do it for the summer.

That's exactly what they just explained to me on the phone. I can still leave it curly if I want to after I have it done- it just won't get frizzy, which is amazing!
So... I think I am going to go for it!

I had it done for the wedding (& my hairstylist gave me a big break on the price for the wedding) & I still wear my hair curly & have had it blown out straight). It has been great!! it just improves the texture & it is more silky. I would be walking around with a big puff with my hair in the weather & it really tamed it down.
So far so good with it.

That's exactly it- it's this hot humid weather!! I can straighten my hair fine on my own in the winter- and it looks great- it just can't be straightened in the summer because it gets too damn frizzy!!!
You know what... you have FM
