Can anyone suggest an indoor plant?

I'm looking for a large indoor floor plant. It's going to go in my living room. Something that doesn't require direct sun and is relatively easy to care for. I can keep plants alive outside, but kill just about any plant I bring indoors. Can anyone suggest something?

Re: Can anyone suggest an indoor plant?

this philadendron grows in the dark and really quickly.

At the garden center, you can get a post the sticks in the middle of the plant, the plant will gow upwards

Re: Can anyone suggest an indoor plant?

I have a ficus tree in my livingroom. I tend to kill all plants - indoors or outdoors - and this one has been alive for almost six months!
I requires very little attention (water every few weeks) and doesn't need much sunlight.

I was also going to suggest the Lily that Lisa posted, but I didn't know the name. They are indestructible. A friend had one in her office with no windows, and it did fine under the florescent lights!

Re: Can anyone suggest an indoor plant?

I have a snake plant that sits in a corner, and there is no light hitting it, and it is growing nicely.
