the same day I change at soc. security? Or do I have to wait until social security goes through?
I have a feeling I'm fine since I got the wedding certificate....but wanted to check with the pros here!

The first thing I did was my license. All you need is the Marriage License. I havent done SS yet. I changed my bank account also. Still need to do my passport.

Yup, you can!! They don't ask to see your SS card, just your marriage certificate.

I did mine seperately. I went to the DMV first then SS office, but I didn't need one for the other. HTH

Thanks everyone! I did both today!
Went to SS first....and she asked me if I wanted my middle name/initial...I chose not to. So I just kept it first/last name.
Went to DMV and she told me I needed to have a middle initial. Ugh I hope this won't be a problem!!!
But yeaaa it's so official now!! I had to resign things like 3 times though cuz I still kept going for my maiden name!

You can change them the same day I think. I only did my DL and didnt need my SS with the name change I used the old one
