It wasn't a family party. It was his friend's BBQ but he invited my in-laws. The girl showed up with some of the other girls. The host apparently invited them.

did your husband respond at all to her being there? or did he think it was no biggie.

he was mortified. He didn't say anything. He like whispered hello with his head down. After she left he asked me if I 'enjoyed the show' and I grinned and said 'yup!' and took a HUGE sip of wine.

He of course insists nothing happened and it really is quite possible the girl didn't know he was married since he WASN'T WEARING HIS RING in the pictures (GOD that burns me a$$) but if she didn't know... she knows now!

I AGREE but he thinks I am only embarrassing myself 'by letting people know our business.' Whatev. Like I'm going to just sit & take it. I don't f*cking think so.

He's delusional if you ask me. Youre not embarassing yourself, your embarassing HIM. Youre not the one who looks like an idiot here. He does. Im so glad youre staying strong considering his lack of remorse in this whole situation.

just curious Caroline---i thought you two were taking time away from each other while you sort out the idea of mediation and stuff that the divorce lawyer told you about? are you guys keeping up appearances socially by going to events together?

Hot darn, some good fireworks for the 4th.

How nice that your DH was uncomfortable.
Did the 'host' of the party have any idea of the events leading up to this wonderfully awkward moment ?

THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANKS. Thought you girls might like that. What happened you ask?

As you might recall, my sister in law is f*cking crazy. Sure, I like her now, but this is the same psycho who CANCELED my wedding, hit my car, cursed out my dad.... but now she loves me.

So as soon as the girl walked in, my face twisted. I said 'is that?' Within about a minute, my SIL got up, walked up to her & said 'hey, you look really familiar? Where do I know you from?' The girl was stumped & so SIL said 'oh WAIT???? Aren't you one of the girls that hangs out on (insert name of boat)?' She said 'yes.' SIL said 'yeah, now I remember, you're the sluut that is hanging all over my brother in those pictures!' She started to give a snotty face when SIL grabbed her by her elbow & said 'come with me:'

she DRAGGED her to the table where I was sitting with DH, MIL & the baby & she said 'meet my sister in law, Caroline. That's his WIFE. And this is Ella, his baby! Isn't she CUTE??? And you know Robbie. Robbie, say hi to your little FRIEND!!!'

The girl left about 45 seconds after that.

GOOD FOR HER!!! i can't believe she was there! Freakin' *****...i hope she & rob were both mortified...KARMA'S A B*TCH!

Yes and no. Last weekend I had the chance to go out to Newport & see my BF from home, etc but I still slept home. Its hard to stay other places with the baby. She needs a crib, etc and I don't have anywhere else around here to stay with her. And I can't leave her alone with him for a night because he is incapable.

This weekend, I met him at the BBQ. I arrived with MIL & SIL. He had stayed down at that house for part of the weekend. I wasn't going to go but MIL convinced me I was only hurting myself & Ella since we'd be sitting home alone if we didn't go. She had a great time & played with kids, etc.

He hasn't agreed to mediation. Or divorce. He keeps changing his mind. He doesn't even have a lawyer. So nothing is happening right now. We are at a standstill.

Caroline, this is a really dumb question...but have the 2 of you been to counseling?? I should FM you, but I understand what your going thru right now, and counseling is a BIG help....even if you guys eventually part...it will help you two communicate

yes, we went. Our marriage counselor fired us. He told us to get a divorce.

I actually offered to him a few weeks ago that we go get a 'second opinion.' But now I'm not sure I even want to bother

Was the elephant in the room dressed in her leopard print best?

That must have been so awful for you but it's great that his family is on your side.
