If you have a program like Windows Movie Maker, you can save a portion of it as a file.

I copied my entire DVD to my hard drive and I can watch the entire thing on my computer. I wish I knew how to strip off a chapter to send to friends, etc ...

I just did this! So I can definitely help.

I used an application called Nero . Download the free trial for Nero 7 Ultra Edition which is usually available for about 30 days.

After you download it, open Nero SmartStart. There under I think 'Backup', there is an option to record part of your dvd. You can select which chapter you want or you can pick exactly which segments you want. You might have to play around with it a little bit before you get it right. Unfortunately my trial version expired, so I can't tell you exactly what the selections are.

It's fantastic and I loved it esp since I got to use it for free!

And then I used Dropshots to upload the different video segments and have family and friends take a look at it.

I thought it wasn't too bad but I must admit, I am in the technology industry.

Have you downloaded Nero already? Feel free to email me directly at l i b r y d e @ y a h o o . c o m and I will be happy to try and help you.

If you have downloaded Nero:

* Open Nero StartSmart.
* Click on the Backup tab
* Click on Copy DVD - Video movies to CD
* Click Ok to the message about registering
* Click on Import Files and go to where your wedding video is located and select your wedding video.
* Click on Add Title.
* Click on Close.
* You should now see your video name in the Content section
* Now click on Start/End.
* You can select exactly what you want to convert. You can pick your starting and ending place by using the chapters or purely by the time segments.
* Click Ok.
* Click Next.
* Under Target Folder, change it to where you want your new video to be saved.
* Click Burn.

Hope this helps you ladies!
