Re: cant hurt to ask - anyone been to Yosemite NP?
Not Yosemite....yet....at least not in my memory (my parents took us to all kinds of places as kids).
I did Yellowstone (need a few days)...but stayed in campgrounds in the area (no reservations). It was really interesting...lots to see & do.
We did Bryce Canyon recently, which I thought was really beautiful. Stayed at a B&B in a town 1/2 an hr away (the inn was full). You maybe need 1-2 days, depending on how avid a hiker you are.
We did Mount Zion in the same trip as bryce. Compared to bryce, it wasn't as nice...but had more intense hiking trails and handicapped trails...so you could go all the way or just meander along.
Have fun planning!

Not Yosemite.....
We went to Jackson Hole WY for our honeymoon. We stayed in a condo with a view of the Grand Tetons.
Grand Teton National Park is beautiful.
So is Yellowstone National Park. The snow on the trees was beautiful.

I've been to Yellowstone...stayed at The Old Faithful Inn which was incredible....we could literally see Old Faithful from our window...i know we had to make reservations way in advance....

I stayed in yosemite when I was 16 so I won't really be any help. I remember that our cabin was very small, but Yosemite itself was absolutely beautiful. I would love to go back again.
