Re: cat owners........
How old was the cat when you got him declawed? 18 years ago we had gotten our cat declawed and he 'scratched' everything he could. Of course no damage occured. But he was an iddy bitty kitty when we did it so we thought it was because he thought he still had claws. As for the biting...in my experiece, if a cat bites...it just bites. You can't have he or she de-teethed!

Re: cat owners........
Im not a fan of declawing cats. I think that if someone is going to declaw a cat they shouldnt have a cat at all. Declawing cats can cause them to be depressed and uncomfortable. It may be convenient to you but its def not convenient for your furry friend. If your cat accidently got outside, it would have no way of defending itself. I could write a book on why declawing is NOT good. Since its already been done...the cat is probably going through a rough time getting used to himself with out claws. Biting may just be a reaction to the pain. I just wish people would do more research before doing this to a cat. In certain areas of Europe its actually considered inhuman and illegal.
Here is a tidbit of info I pulled from a good website
Your cat's claw is not a toenail. It is actually closely adhered to the bone. So closely adhered that to remove the claw, the last bone of your the cat's claw has to be removed. Declawing is actually an amputation of the last joint of your cat's 'toes'. When you envision that, it becomes clear why declawing is not a humane act. It is a painful surgery, with a painful recovery period. And remember that during the time of recuperation from the surgery your cat would still have to use its feet to walk, jump, and scratch in its litter box regardless of the pain it is experiencing. Wheelchairs and bedpans are not an option for a cat

Re: cat owners........
3 weeks old is very young to take a cat away from it's mother and it may still be learning a lot of things...
also, the biting is probably due to teething. we have 2 cats and one doesn't bite at all, and the other will bite here and there as a play thing, but he doesn't bite hard because he learned from the first cat how hard is ok, and how hard is too hard
a friend has one cat, and he'll bite too when playing but he bites REALLY hard... i guess because he didnt have another cat to teach him when he's crossed the line. if this cat is your only pet you need to teach him and not encourage him when he does the things you dont like. cats are creatures of habit.
also, make sure to give him other things to chew on especially if hes teething. a chilled carrot works well
