catering recommendations

So I am throwing my mom a surprise party for her birthday...I thought she could use some happiness right now! I need to find the best bargain as far as catering the party...there will be 20-25 people there. I am VERY low on funds...any help would be great!

Even if you don't have restaurants ( I live out in eastern suffolk) ideas of what kind of food to get would be helpful! Thanks in advance!

Re: catering recommendations

i am having a 30th bday party for DH tomorrow and I have to tell you even on the cheap this party is costing me an arm and leg.

We ordered heros and a few trays of food which was only approx 200 for 35-40 people but then its all the other stuff....paper goods, beer, wine, soda, apps

I priced all kinds of things and this was the cheapest way to go that I found.

its the cheapest way to go....I went to the deli near me and prices range from 14.95/ft to about 18/foot and that is with pot, mac and coleslaw with it.

Then you can make a few sides if you want and my MIL is makign a try of ziti cause its easy to make and the deli charges 75 for a tray

Sorry to crash...I highly reccomend Fireside Caterers. They catered our e-party last year and were very affordable! They traveled all from East Islip to Manhattan for our party.

here's their website

Once again sorry to crash...but in 8 days I wont be crashing anymore

people LOVE heros. they are easy to eat! maybe you can even make it a potluck so that you don't have to worry about sides too much?

If you want to do heros and salads, check out Home Run Heroes. It's on Middle Country Road in Selden/Centereach.

I've seen the heros they make and they look delicious. DH and I usually get lunch there on the weekend and we've never had a problem!
