The best part was when he was elected to this final term, he said something like, 'I want to be known as the greatest mayor of NYC.'

I know! We are steaming mad here.
We got this email yesterday.

'The DOT has been instructed by the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) that all employees who did not report to work on January 27th must charge their time to their annual leave or compensatory time leave balances. In cases where an employee has no leave balances, upon notifying their supervisor, annual leave will be advanced for this purpose.

If an employee believes that their absence should be excused, DCAS will be developing a review process by which each agency can determine whether the absence should or should not be excused. Once this process is developed it will be disseminated to all staff.

Please note this policy does not apply to those employees who had requested and/or received pre-approved sick, annual or compensatory leave for January 27th.

In keeping with the City’s policy, lateness on January 27th caused by transportation delays will be excused, without the need to provide proof.

The one thing that makes me happy when I read that is this. This is my union and I am glad that they are going to fight this.
