Changing last name

So some girls choose to take their husbands name, hyphenate it, or keep your name... to each his own, no judgement here.... BUT....

I was just talking to a friend who recently got engaged and she told me she's keeping her name, not telling her FH and avoiding the subject entirely to avoid fighting about it.

Am I wrong in telling her that she has to talk to him about it now because its only going to cause problems in the future??

Those that didn't change their names, did your husbands put up a fight??

Thanks ladies!

edited: forgot to add that she knows that her FH hates the idea of girls not changing their names.

Re: Changing last name

i have been married almost 9 mths and still haven't changed my name. I plan to eventually but just wasnt in a rush. DH is aware and doesn't even really care one way or the other if I ever change it. I would never hide it from him though bc it will come out at some point and then it looks worse. Like why did you have to lie about it. ya know?
