is there info online somewhere re: changing your name on your passport? I seem to remember you have one year from your wedding date? I want to do it now..I keep forgetting!
You can change your name on your passport when ever you want. I think the one year thing that you are recalling is the fact that if you change your name within one year of receiving your passport there is no fee.
If you change your name within 1 yr of getting your passport then you only have to do a name change. If it is more than a yr you have to fill out the form just like you would if you were renewing your passport...you can go to usps.gov and get the form fill it out, get two pics, and take it to the post office, bring your marriage license and your current passport. You mail the form, marriage license, and old passport in and they will send the new passport, and marriage cert back in the mail.
how do u do a name change if it is prior to one year?
call the post office there is a dfferent form you fill out...I don't remember what it is called and I haven't been able to find it on usps.gov...sorry
