Cheating

I just read that 1 in 4 married men cheat on their wives and 1 in 5 married women cheat on their husbands.

Does that sound high to anyone else?

I think about all of my friends in couples, and I really can't picture that any of them might be cheating... I guess that just makes me naive. All of the people I know who do cheat, they are fairly open about it, and they are serial daters not married. Maybe I just don't know enough married couples.

i never even heard of ashley madison until today
i read about it in an article titled 'superbowl advertisements that never aired' and then i read an article about that website and that is where i found those statistics. 4 million people use that website!! it sounds too high to me.

to encourage people to cheat... i'm sorry, thats just gross (imho)

due to personal experience, I am VERY anti-cheating.. I think its disgusting and just wrong.

Out of myself and 4 other couples who have gotten married in the past year- I know exactly who's going to be cheating. Who already has! Everything they do is a joke though.

in some circles, its more accepted and common than in others. like my work friends. seriously everyone cheats and its no big deal. or it is a big deal so the spouse retaliates and cheats back. and it goes on...

but i think i'd be the more likely one to cheat over DH

about the OP Q - unfortunately I dont think its too high. from experience I know what ppl do when the spouse is away/busy <--- eta: not me or DH just to clarify LOL
