Believe it or not I once wrote out a check to a utility company and forgot to sign it (andd I'm very detail oriented). It was CASHED. I know it wasn't supposed to be. Not sure if you want to try that. Otherwise call them and explain the situation. They may have been writing it out quickly that morning and forgot.
