we are really behind on dinner....how long should it take to make a chuck roast? If I do it in an aluminum foil type roast pan will it be ok?

Re: chuck roast
i just asked DH--he cooks all the time--and he said to sear it first then put it in the oven but that usually you cook roasts 'low and slow' he said it would at least take a couple of hours! do you have a crockpot???

Re: chuck roast
i think it is a little bit faster in the oven, but not much. i think they come out best in the crockpot though because the meat gets so tender. if you throw it in the crockpot on high it may get done in like 3 hours? i always put some water in with mine so there's some 'juice' and a packet of that french onion soup mix (if you have it).
but......the mac and cheese and pie sounds YUMMY to me! we've had christmas cookies for several meals in the past week!
