So...are you a city slicker or a country bumpkin? Which do you prefer- the city life or the slower, more suburban life?
We love the city for having fun and going out- we really miss my old apartment in Queens. But I love suburban living as well! I guess once we have kids we'll appreciate it more. For now, I'll say I'm a city mouse!

Im a city mouse and love it...however...i also love the suburbs, i love how clean it is and how relaxing and beautiful the suburbs are. But you probably said it best, i like to party in the city, but live in the suburbs.

Re: City Mouse or Country Mouse?
i LOVE living in the sticks!! haha...i just saw a deer and her baby walking across the street as i closed my curtains...don't get to see that in the city! I like peace & quiet and trees...got my fill of the city after working there for 8 years! (but can understand why people love the city..it's just not for me)

Re: City Mouse or Country Mouse?
i'm a bit of both... but honestly, if i could afford it, i would live in a nice apartment on Central Park West in A SECOND! i love the manhattan life, but could never afford it.
DH is my country boy... i have to beg him to do nights out in the city... i think the years and years of commuting in and out did him in.

Re: City Mouse or Country Mouse?
I have lived in Manhattan for years......we just moved 5 miles outside of it (in Hoboken) and I feel like I live on a farm b/c there are not enough yellow cabs. I am definitely a city mouse! The idea of living in the burbs gives me hives I'm allergic to grass and trees.....can't be anywhere near them

I'm a little bit of both.
Now we live in Queens and I work in the city, but it was nice to come home to peace and quiet and space and a yard on the suburbs.

I'm a burbs girl myself but I need to live near a city (for the shopping of course). I've lived in the city andin the suburbs and I much prefer the quiet and cleanliness of the suburbs.

I don't think suburban mouse and country mouse are the same at all.
I like suburban living - I can't imagine having to work in the city and then live here on top of it. I need my space.
I'd love to have a horse farm in the country, though -- part of the 5 year plan!

100% agree!!
Although, I would like to live in manhattan for a bit- just to see what its like.
I always said I would do it before I got married...but, I never did. If FH ever gets on FDNY, I might consider living in Manhattan or Queens for a bit before we have kids

Re: City Mouse or Country Mouse?
only on LI would nassau / western suffolk burbs be considered 'country'
our burbs have a good deal of city comforts.... and I'd argue that most LI'ers would prefer smaller cities, while NY'ers would prefer the biggies......
I'm a city girl at heart, but trapped in port jeff due to work... which is why we live in the noisiest / busiest part of our tiny town
