Cleaning Stainless Steel Pots

Does anyone have a good tip as to how to clean stainless steel pots and pans? The outside of my Cuisinarts are all tarnished. I hope this is an easy fix!

dont ever use soap or cleaning products on them that have lemon or lime or any citrus.

get barkeepers friends products sold at bed bath and beyond and those help clean and polish stainless steel.

Thanks - I have lime dish soap, guess that's part of the problem.

Will the steel wool bring it back if it's pretty bad?

There is stuff called 'bartenders friend' which I was told was the only thing you should use on stainless pots. It's like a powder, you can find it at Target or Bed/Bath Beyond.

its barkeepers friend and they have a liquid version which i find to be easier than the powdered kind. the steel brillo pads are excellent. i would use it in conjunction with barkeepers, and i would stop using the lime soap.

Lime soap, that DH bought, went RIGHT in the garbage when I got home. Hoping and praying the steel wool/barkeepers friend can bring it back.

Good Luck. We ruined one skillet/pot when we first opened them and we got it 80% better but it is still pretty bad. avoiding the citrus and using those products when cleaning has helped us keep all the others in good condition. same went for our stainless steel utensils.

Absolutely!! I used them on my MIL's wedding pots and I brought them back to life. She didn't know the trick either. Scrub hard and they will shine like brand new.
