On my list of 'must-take' photos, I requested that our photographers take pictures of the cocktail hour (food display, guests, etc), but they didn't. Did your photographer take CH pics?

did you have just one photog? were they taking formal portraits like pics of you and DH and your BP during the CH or did you do those portraits at another time and spend CH with everyone else?

We had two photographers. One of them and the videographer took DH and I outside for 20 minutes to take some pics. The other photographer stayed inside. We were in the CH the remainder of the time.

seems reasonable that if one was with you and that you also specified you wanted CH pics, the 2nd photog should have got some. but what can ya really do at this point? i don't think i got everything on our lists.
i have a few from the CH that my 2nd photog got.

you're right, there's nothing I can do. I'm basically most frustrated that the photographer was arrogant and rude, and assumed that no other professionals would take pics!

Nope no CH pics, I didnt want them and didnt care. We took our formal pics with family during this time-but even if we were in CH I wouldnt have wanted pics of the food-TO ME its not important to have pics of food....but to each his own I guess

We didn't get any cocktail hour pics, both our photographers were outside with us doing family pics and pics of us in various places on the RH grounds. I didn't really specify taking pics of that, pics of the food wasn't that important to me.

we asked them too.. and they took a couple.. none that i would use in an album but the video captured more of it... i have a couple in my album..

I honestly wanted more pics at the cocktail hour then anything but all we got was the items at the ch. Like ice sculpture, food, seating cards, etc. I wanted candid shots of people mingling funny goofy shots. BUT i don't blame the photog's I could of pulled them over and asked again. Also the photog's pulled us out during the ch to take some shots outside of our hall because it was raining when we got there so that really cut into the time.
I think if its important to you and IF YOUR NOT taking pics during that time (remember your number 1) then tell him to walk around and do a few candids.

My photographer took some candid shots of the guests during CH but he did get a lot of posed shots, too. The pics came out great.

Some but not crazy amounts. When you think about it, are you really going to put food in your album? Did they do a good job otherwise?

We got so many photos at the cocktail hour taken which we 100% requested. Our photog. didnt miss anything at a ll. He got all the special designed displays, ceiling decor and ice sculptures and our seating chart. We are using about 10 of the photos for our wedding album. Its totally up to you, if you have special things going on you may want them, if not that is fine too, its all about preference. Trust me in the end there are so many photos to choose from, it gets real hard to decide on the albums.

yes but b/c I am a detail freak so I made sure that they did it. When finalized my album last week my photographer said to me..'um.. , I think there is too many detail shots , and less of you and the DH' I told him that is o.k

same here, he took a few of the ice scultpture and other carvings and only one of our fajita station. We were so happy that our videographer got almost everything!

we have some cocktail hour pictures..a few food items and also a few food pics from the dessert cafe... but not really too many photos of people at the cocktail hour... there is a brief segment in my video of the cocktail hour. I wish i could have seen more of it... i remember as soon as we walked in we were pulled in all different directions from the guests that i didn't even get to look around the whole room and outside. I stepped one foot outside & had to leave to line up for the announcements. oh well!
I didn't use any of the food pics in my album... its so hard to narroe down pics its doubtful you'll use them either.
And just think.... in another year or two you aren't going to care hehe

Our photographer took a few, food displays, some pictures of people. For the most part, though we have it all on video.
