HI GIRLS!!!!!! Well we've done EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING to evict this little guy the old fashioned way, and he's not budging!!! Sooooo its off to L&D tonight, 9:30pm to start the induction!!! So as it stands now I have 12 more hours to drive myself ABSOLUTELY nutty with anxiety , watch scary birthing videos, and read about Pitocin-related horror stories.

I can't clean another thing, fold or unfold another outfit, or buy one more baby-related item... sleping is out of the question... So that leaves me with eating, getting a mani/pedi (11am!) and walking my doggie to relieve some of the anxiety!!!

Thank you girls so much, I should take my own damn advice and visualize the BEST CASE SCENARIO,

instead of letting my worrywart side mess up my last day!!!

Mani/pedi sounds like a great idea! You should go to the movies too maybe...definitely don't watch any more birthing videos or the Baby Story on TLC....rent a horror movie, maybe you can scare the baby out of there.

Alissa that's great!! No I MADE DH go to work today, otherwise I'd end up bopping him in the nose, he's pretty anxious too so its better if he's focused on a specific task!!! Plus that gives him an extra day at home with us after baby arrives, when it REALLY counts!

I'm going to try to 'note' all the highlights, and any useful tips I can pass on, hopefully this will help you and our other PGNWs when the time comes!!!

I'll definitely be on later, right now there are some blueberry pancakes calling me from afar (OK well the Grand Cafe on 30th Ave, not too far!!)

This is my favorite day. I am so happy for you.

NOW for some unsolicited advice:

Don't forget to eat before you go Once labor starts, they won't let you eat.

I recommend stashing a few bottles of water in your bag so that DH can sneak you a few sips when no one is around. You will get very thirsty & some nurses won't let you drink (b/c they are afraid you'll puke, not b/c there is a real imminent danger to your baby, at least that I know of.) My nurse let me drink, but most don't.

DO NOT LOOK at your vagina for a day or so., assuming you do a vag birth. It will be swollen like a cauliflower & unrecognizable. You will freak out. Just leave it be, ice it and wait a week before exploring your new cavern.

Some people may disagree with me, but it's ok to send the baby to the nursery for a few hours at night. I was so afraid to do this but honestly, you REALLY will need the sleep. I sent her for about 2-3 hours & it was the best sleep I ever had. It's OK. You are not a bad mom for doing this.

Breastfeed in public as often as you can. Just because


And most of all - take pictures and enjoy this day. We love you!
