I am unable to go though :( I expected to have some extra cash, but I wound up having to take my car in today, and had to pay $200 for some new belts!! It ***** but I can't go now haha Darn it, I wanted to meet Jim Lee!!
the big one is in San Diego. DH really wants to go. He is going this weekend; I'll be skiing.

Dave and I have ALWAYS wanted to go to the huge one in Cali....maybe in few years when the baby is old enough...

It's a lot of horror people....(from old horror movies) - but they also have comedy people there (the pilot from Airplane for example is there this April), old tv show people there....and figures and comics from ALL genres...
we've gone twice and met some really great people....i met a few people from the Warriors (a FAVE of ours) - they were soooooo nice!!!!

My husband went last yr. I think he is going again. His medieval group does a live show. Play fighting with foam swords. Do you also go to I-con? Its usually at Stony Brook College but this yr its at Suffolk Community College in Brentwood.

my ex used to do that - it's called LARP'ing - (live action role playing)...he used to go away for a weekend of it - somewhere in PA...

Ever watch Darkon? IoI The wedding I am in this year is filled with LARPers my friend actually does it weekly in the city and her troop does photoshoots in central park that i go to.

no - i've never seen Darkon... I never got into the D&D and role playing aspect...but the figures, posters, movies, etc...OH YEAH.
our living room looks like the 40 year old virgin's house - but our stuff is out of the boxes on display...

DH went last year to San Diego Comic Con. He had a great time. He is thinking of going again this year.
Darkon the movie was sad but really good to watch.
okay, so by sad do you mean sad things happen or it was just a 'poorly done movie'?
I ask because i cry at DUMB VH1 shows now (because of the hormones) - so if it's something that will upset me - i'll put it on netflix, towards the bottom...to wait until i'm MUCH less hormonal....

They are having one this friday-sunday at the Javits Center.
I think there is another one in the fall. I need to catch up on all my cons!!!!

actually parts of it made me sad. A few nerdy kids who get picked up and crapped on do this to feel free and strong. I mean its turning a negative into a positive but its still sad in my eyes because i know how it feels to be pooped on and needing an outlet.
