Are you one or the other...or both? I am trying to be both.
I just find it so odd when people are like 'I dont bake..I cook' and they seem so proud! I am so determined to do both! (But I think I love cooking more)

I think I'm ok at both. I don't prefer one over the other, either.

Re: Cooker vs. Baker
I'm way better at baking than cooking...I would love to cook, but after I get home from work at 8 something at night, the microwave always seems like the best idea!

I'm a baker. I don't necessarily HATE to cook, it's just not my favorite.

Re: Cooker vs. Baker
I am the cooker. DH is the baker. And it makes sense for us cus he HAS to follow a recipe and I use recipes more as a guide if I use them at all. And you can't do that with baking. I am capable of baking and enjoy it once in awhile, but I def prefer to cook. And DH is the opposite, so it works out for us.

Re: Cooker vs. Baker
I'm neither but I am learning. Thankfully to all you wonderful ladies my DH is eating and happy while eating!!!
I never really had to cook before except when I had my own apt in college and I really just made quick easy pasta or mac and cheese or ate what my roomie would cook. So now I have to learn and I am actually enjoying it
I feel baking is a little harder...or it takes a little longer I dont know. but I would actually rather be a good baker since I LOVE desserts.

Re: Cooker vs. Baker
I used to love to bake and was much better at that than cooking. I actually used to have no interest in cooking! But lately i've been enjoying making dinner and learning new recipes.

Re: Cooker vs. Baker
I like cooking when I have time...which is like never but it makes DH so happy when I cook so I am doing it more and more these days! He cooks too so it works out!
But still I find it so odd when people like brag 'I dont bake!' like its cool or something!

I think I'm pretty good at both, but I prefer to bake... there's no time constraint so its more relaxing.

Re: Cooker vs. Baker
I love both just as equal. I sometimes want to make like a really crazy, insane, complicated cake, and then one day I want to do the same thing with like a beef dish. I always want to challenge myself with cooking and baking. I love them both equaly as much.
If I could do nothing all day but cook and bake, I would be the happiest person on earth.

Re: Cooker vs. Baker
I do both pretty well I think. I prefer baking to cooking though b/c DH will eat basically anything sweet so I know if I bake it, he'll eat it. He's a very picky eater so I can't cook too many different thngs b/c he just wont eat it. lol

Re: Cooker vs. Baker
I'm decent at both, but I prefer cooking b/c you don't have to be exact. Cooking is a little forgiving if you put too much or to little of a certain ingredient. With baking if you did that, the whole thing turns into a huge CF, and the garbage is the only one enjoying it

Re: Cooker vs. Baker
i try to do both! I never cooked a day of my life before i got married but i really do love it. I will say i think i enjoy the process of cooking more...just because i eyeball a lot of things & like to throw my own twist in, see how it tastes, add some more - etc. I find u can't really do that as much with baking...if that makes sense?? i strive to be good at both i too can cook & bake all day
